Test tile with a function! I liked the idea of shot glasses you that could only be set down when emptied. I wrote gan bei - cheers, or "dry [your] cup" in it! It shrank down to more like half a shot and i realized later i should have written the text so it could be read when held like a shot glass... oops! But i like this fellow. Very derpy lil one :)

It feels a little silly to post test tiles for glazes i might never use again, but hey! Laney college ceramics students this is for you!

Copper red on rodsbod clay, fired at cone 10. Fall 2024 semester - maybe the red glaze issue finally got sorted since then? You can see a few dots of red here and there but by and large it fired clear with a faint green tint.

I wanted to make this abomination since first semester! 6 handled mug haha

Theyre all different! It was fun seeing which shapes were actually comfy vs which just looked like handles and actually really sucked to hold.

One of the handles popped off (i had so many struggles with the 811 red clay this semester 😭) but luckily this piece had another 5 to choose from 😂 I used e6000 to reattach the naughty handle.

Glazed like a maniac: green to black over racer celadon outside, rutile blue along the rim, wu blue inside the mug, and i used temoku to reconnect the third foot to the body (og foot got lost so i sculpted a new one out of bmix and used glaze to stick it back on).

Bmix slab and pinch pot pelican!!!!! I love this silly goober! I made it for a pitcher assignment and technically, it counts :)

Sadly the orange slip mostly burnt out at cone 10, and the clear glaze was a little thick and makes the scream in the back of the mouth a little obfuscated... and i really should have done feet so he could stand better... but hey! I love making a silly idea real :) and i know better what to do next time!

Another warm up piece - i love kurinuki for loosening up and listening to the clay! This one is 811 red with ct shino - easily one of my favorite unpredictable glazes.

Fall of 2024 i made some stuff! And then i forgot to document it and submit any assignments and stopped updating here. But here we go again :)

These were silly warm up pieces to get my hands dirty! A hanging wall piece for my friends of their dog (slab bmix with much too heavy a coat of clear glaze), another difficult lemon attempt (kurinuki bmix with yellow slip on the outside and again too much clear glaze), and a little mushroom house (811 red clay with douglas celadon over satin white on the cap, clear on the body).

Vending again at :) Through 5 pm today at PLACE! Maximum ADHD spread hahaha

Went to sjmade for the first time! THE OVERWHELM!!! So many brilliant artists and cute wares, i feel so lucky to have found some new favorite artists, said hi to friends, and had chats with artists i followed for a while now! (Also the keychain at the bottom is by banh.bells, for my own future reference :) )

I have picked up other lovely goods from other events and done spreads and not posted them 😭 They are buried somewhere in my camera roll, drat. Maybe someday theyll resurface...

And a return to ceramics journalling should happen at some point. I like having the references, but making them! Less fun.
