Jesus asked a man who had been struggling for 38 years:
𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿?

The man started explaining why he could not get better. He said the circumstances weren't great, and nobody helped him.

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺.

Tonight, we are unpacking what that exchange actually means and what it might be asking of us.

Table Talk.
𝟳 𝗣𝗠. 𝟮𝟱𝟭𝟱 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘃𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘆. Come as you are.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸.
Jesus walked up to a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years and asked him a question that sounds almost cruel until you sit with it long enough:

“𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹?”

It seems obvious. Of course he does. But Jesus never asked obvious questions. Sometimes people build an entire identity around a limitation. Sometimes familiar brokenness feels safer than unknown wholeness.

Wednesday night at Table Talk, we are sitting with that question to discover what it exposes now.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝟳 𝗣𝗠. 𝟮𝟱𝟭𝟱 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘃𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘆

𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗻.
There's a moment in Ruth 2 where a wealthy landowner stops everything, looks at a foreign woman with no legal standing in his culture, and says, "I know your story. I know what you left behind. I know what it cost you to show up here."

And he makes room for her. Not just provision. Dignity.

That's the difference between charity and grace. One gives people what they need. The other makes room for them to belong.

Yesterday at Emerge, we sat with the question:
