That’s a LOT of science kits! 🤯 Sharing a huge thank you to HandsOn Bay Area and Google employees for assembling awesome material kits for elementary students to explore circuits, microbots, and more. These 1,000 kits will help us bring joyful science learning experiences to hundreds of East Bay elementary kids!

Google employees volunteered to put the cool kits together this summer as part of Googleserve Week. Nearly 100 Google team members also made donations – raising nearly $2,000 to support our STEM outreach programs in local schools.

‼️ GOOD NEWS for children's education: the State Board of Education is adding science test scores to the state dashboard. 🥳

We're prepping for the start of the new school year, supporting 2,000+ TK-8 educators across the East Bay, and working with our Advisory Council partners including Exploratorium and Lawrence Hall of Science to keep the momentum for aligned science teaching and learning moving forward.

More than 80 teachers took part in our summer institutes and they are ready to incorporate science in their classrooms from Day 1 of the new year. They're also equipped to support their fellow teachers in embracing the power of high-interest, phenomena-centered science explorations to also develop students' reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills!
