Hey for my parents and students out there. I do not think that many of you have signed up for the text notification yet. if you have not, please do now. You can look at previous posts to get info. We will use this to communicate for many different reasons, not just Sunday School but anything that has to do with you or your children. Later.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there! God has blessed you and entrusted you with a mission field in your own home! It is quite possibly the hardest job on planet earth, but the rewards are amazing as well!

If you have kids too young to read, you can get the Action Bible on CD so they can read along. You can also get the Audio Bible in iTunes even cheaper (and burn to disc if you want). There's even an iPhone app for the Action Bible that has the Bible AND Audio. BOOM!

Here's a great resource for all of you parents with teen / tween girls. Their tour is coming to First Baptist Hot Springs on May 7th. Let's see if we can get a group of ladies and daughters to go!

Hey parents!! What do you want your kids to learn in 2011? Compassion? Servanthood? Love for others? Patience? If you don't know, then you need to decide and make a plan! Let us know what you're thinking! Share with others so they can get ideas, plans, etc!

Friday @ 6pm we are going to go Christmas caroling and take some baked goodies to some folks in Hiland community and to some widows. This would be a GREAT opportunity to show your kids how to spread some CHRISTmas cheer during the season that's supposed to be all about JESUS! Afterward, we'll be warming up with chili at Jonathan & Holly's house. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly! God Sightings are sure to seen!

Read Rom 2:17-24. The last verse ends “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." This passage is talking about practicing what you preach. Nowhere is this more important than in front of your kids. Can you teach them to respect when you don't show respect to others? Teach them to be truthful when they catch you in "white lies?" Teach them about God's love when you don't show it?

Ex 12:26 - "And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?'" - Please don't miss an opportunity this week to tell your kids about Thanksgiving. Too many times this special time of year is reduced to turkey & football and nothing else. Don't let it be the case in your family! Leave comments to give us all some fresh ideas about how to give thanks with our kids!

The virtue of the month is INITIATIVE. We are teaching the kids about Nehemiah rebuilding the wall, and how it took a lot of initiative to do so. Our definition of initiative is "seeing what needs to be done and doing it." To make it stick, we are asking the kids to become CSI's: Can See It - Can Do It. What are some ways YOU are taking the initiative to show this virtue to your kids?

Talked to the girls this morning about a song they had been listening to. Even though their version was the "kids" version, it's basically the same as the original. We had not seen the video of the original song until the other day - it was pure junk! We talked about the content of the video and how listening to songs means we "approve" it. We decided together it was best not to listen to this song anymore.

We're at the beach this week! Tons of opportunities come to mind for
