💻🤖 Happy National Coding Week!

Mickey Manatee would like everyone to know…robots don’t code themselves! 😂

Behind every moving robot are students learning to write code, testing it, troubleshooting when things definitely don’t go as planned, and trying again — with mentors and coaches helping teach, guide, and share their own skills along the way.

Building the robot is only part of the challenge— coding is what brings it to life!

This week, we’re celebrating our student programmers and the mentors and coaches helping the next generation learn to code!

IT’S OFFICIALLY A NEW ROBOT SEASON!

Today SeaCow Robotics kicked off the 2026–2027 FTC season with a room full of students, mentors, families, a whole lot of excitement, and of course, FOOD! (We particularly love Larry's Pizza-Bryant, AR, one of our long-term sponsors)

Before the big reveal, our students made their predictions about what this year’s game might bring. Turns out…we had some creative guesses, but BIOBUZZ had a few surprises in store for us! 🐝😂

Now the real work, and the fun, begins. It’s time to brainstorm, strategize, design, build, test, and bring this season’s robot to life.

New season. New challenge. One herd. 💚

We can’t wait to see where this season takes Team 21418!

3 DAYS TO GO!

The countdown to kickoff is officially on! We can’t wait to see what this season has in store. 🤖💚

Bring on BIOBUZZ!

Off-Season Challenge Complete!

Our FTC students wrapped up the off-season with a little friendly competition — and four student-built robots! 💚

Over the course of the off-season, students designed, built, programmed, tested, and refined their robots while developing skills in CAD, coding, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and time management.

Students took different approaches to the challenge; some worked in teams through the full design and programming process, while others took on the challenge of building their own robot with support from a parent/mentor. Different designs, different experiences, and a whole lot of learning along the way!

To finish it off, students put their robots to the test in a mini competition and practiced another important part of FTC: documenting their work and presenting what they learned.

The off-season gave our students a chance to experiment, make mistakes, solve problems, and try new things without the pressure of the official season—and we had a lot of fun along the way!

Next up… a brand-new FTC season! 🤖💚

As proud members of Saline County 4-H, we’re happy to share this reminder and instructions for 2026–2027 4-H re-enrollment!

🍀 4-H RE-ENROLLMENT!
It’s a new 4-H year, which means all 4-H members and volunteers need to re-enroll in ZSuite for the 2026–2027 year.

Even if you recently enrolled or were just approved as a volunteer, you still need to complete re-enrollment due to the annual ZSuite rollover.

✅ How to Re-Enroll:
Log into ZSuite
Go to your Household
Select Create Enrollment
Review your information and update anything that has changed
Complete and submit your re-enrollment

⏰ IMPORTANT: Re-enrollment must be completed by January 1st. If you do not re-enroll by the deadline, you will be removed from the 4-H roster and will have to complete the enrollment process again.

Need help? Don’t hesitate to reach out to the Saline County Extension Office.

Our FLL teams are going strong!

Our FIRST LEGO League teams are diving into the new BIOGLOW season — building creative solutions, learning to code, testing their robots, and figuring out what works (and what doesn’t!).

Every challenge brings a new opportunity to experiment, problem-solve, make adjustments, and try again. And judging by the smiles, they’re having plenty of fun along the way. 💚

We’re excited to watch their ideas come to life as the season continues!

✈️ It’s National Aviation Day!

Before an airplane ever leaves the ground, there’s a whole lot of STEM behind it —designing, building, programming, testing, problem-solving…and sometimes going back to the drawing board.

Aviation is a great reminder that some pretty incredible things can happen when curiosity meets engineering!

Let’s have some fun with a little aviation trivia! We’ll reveal the answer later!
