The Pond Nobody Checked

10 years missing. Almost 200 bodies of water searched. Then, a pond nobody had checked.

On July 30, 2015, 25-year-old Steven MacKrell, a dad to a one-year-old girl, was caught on a gas station camera in Pompano Beach, Florida. A silver car pulled out after him. He was never seen again.

In July 2022 we searched for two days. We found 13 cars underwater, and none of them were his. We thought that if he got on I-95, he went south, toward home.

On October 2, 2025, Sunshine State Sonar found Steven, still in his car, in a pond off I-95 in Boca Raton, about 13 miles north. Mike Sullivan and his team did what we couldn't, and his family finally has answers. Police say how he ended up in that pond is still under investigation.

Steven is home. Thank you for being part of this mission with us.

FRANK DAVIS PRESS RELEASE

Following joint efforts with local authorities and the Davis family, we have confirmed the location and recovery of a submerged vehicle linked to the disappearance of George Franklin “Frank” Davis, who went missing more than 22 years ago.

On September 24, 2026, AWP conducted targeted search operations in Creston near an area locally known as the Old Ferry Landing. During the search, Byron and Kade detected a submerged vehicle matching the profile of Davis’s 1981 Chrysler LeBaron. Byron dove on the vehicle and confirmed the license plate (191BHR) and noted human remains inside. AWP immediately notified the Davis family and briefed the Creston RCMP.

On Monday, September 28, 2026, the vehicle and remains were successfully brought to the surface in an operation led by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT). Davis was 40 years old when he was reported missing from his residence near Creston on July 29, 2004. While formal identification remains pending through forensic analysis by the BC Coroners Service, investigators and the family believe the recovered remains are those of Davis. Authorities have stated that preliminary findings show no indication of foul play and the death is not considered suspicious.

This marked the first of many cases the team is working in Canada for their fall trip. Your continued support is what puts on the road. You indirectly lend a helping hand in every case we work by watching, liking, sharing, donating, and purchasing life saving window breakers from our website.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our mission.

Can I Get You a B**r?

That's what the woman who threw the party asked Alberta Leach, the morning after her 17-year-old son Randy never came home. April 1988, Linwood, Kansas. Randy and his mom's gray 1985 Dodge have never been found.

His dad Harold searched for almost 33 years. In 2020 and 2021, Harold and Alberta brought us into their home, and we searched Stranger Creek, the Kansas River and pond after pond. Harold died in January 2021, two weeks after our last search with him. He never learned what happened to his son.

The party house burned. Someone set fire to the family's car. The case file stayed sealed. And now, 38 years later, there are new leads.

Randy Leach is still missing. Please share this video. If you know something, email [email protected] or contact the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.

BENINA JEPKOECH CASE UPDATE

Benina and her friend crashed into the North Thompson River this May after swerving to avoid an oncoming car. Several of the bystanders who witnessed the crash immediately jumped into the river to try and help the girls escape.

The water disabled the electric windows and kept the doors from opening. Luckily there were rocks on shore that a bystander was able to use to break open the back window. Cameron, the man pictured with the AWP team, was able to save the passenger, but Benina was nowhere to be found.

Local search and rescue crews deployed drones, shoreline teams, and swift-water rescuers to try and locate the car. They were unsuccessful.

Months went by. No answers.

AWP was notified about this case almost immediately after the incident. With no updates, the crew decided to add it onto their route as the 2nd case for their fall trip.

The team got into town Saturday. After about 10 minutes in the water, Byron was able to locate the vehicle on sonar.

After marking the car with a magnet, he suited up and dove on the car to confirm it was Benina’s.

Scheduling and bureaucracy issues followed, but long story short, we ended up doing the extraction ourselves. Big thank you to Sgt Shoihet for pushing things through. The pull went well, minus a few hiccups that you’ll see in the upcoming documentary. Benina was sadly not inside the vehicle, which seems to confirm the report that they both escaped the vehicle.

This case, along with many others we've worked, is why we developed the best window breaker on the market. We believe half of the people we find would still be alive today if they had a window breaker. Water crashes, car fires, and trapped kids/pets are tragedies that happen every single day. We sell it with the hope you'll never have to use it.

Our heart goes out to her family and friends. We wish we could have brought her home. If any of you reading this ever visit that area, please keep your eye out for any sign of Benina and reach out to the RCMP with any tips of where she might be.

Nobody Searched That Spot

In July 2013, Molly Miller (17) and C**t Haynes (21) vanished after the car they were riding in crashed at the end of a police chase in Love County, Oklahoma. They called for help until their phones died. Then nothing, for almost 13 years.

In 2021 we searched Battle Springs Ranch with Molly's cousins and a cadaver dog team. In 2022 we went back and drained a pond. We found nothing.

This February, the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police and the BIA Missing and Murdered Unit found them, less than a mile from the crash, in an area no one had searched. Both were identified in March.

Cause and manner of death are unknown. The district attorney plans to take the case to a grand jury. Was it an accident, or murder?

Molly and C**t are home. Thank you for being part of this mission with us.
