Can’t believe is already been a week since I was running around at Pickathon !
It’s always an honor and pleasure running their dinner concert series, Curation. Somehow it’s already been 5 years that I’ve been doing this. 🐸
This years Pickathon was one of the best yet!
All of our chefs and bands hit it out of the park and as always the team at Jen Rich made our area one of the most beautiful corners of the festival.
Friday Dinner: Cafe Olli + The Brothers Comatose
Saturday Brunch: Nostrana + Family Company
Saturday Happy Hour: Sunday Sauce + The Womack Sisters
Saturday Dinner: República + Mexican Institute of Sound
Sunday Brunch: Screen Door Restaurant PDX + The Travelin' McCourys
Thanks again to the Brothers Comatose for inviting me to sit in on the Woods Stage. Always an honor to rub elbows with yall, Kevin Mauzy Martin + Gabriel Kelley + Hannah Marie Kelley and Hogslop String Band

Good times last night at the Volcanic Theatre Pub with The Brothers Comatose
My roadies did great although they laid down on the job a lot.
Off to Pickathon now!
My yearly petition to The Brothers Comatose to let a dude bro sing the lady part to “Morning Time” 😅
In all seriousness though, I’m excited to open for my old buds TONIGHT at the Volcanic Theatre Pub
Doors at 6. I’m on 7-7:45
Summer time has me feeling nostalgic of my first summer working as a Whitewater River guide 20 years ago. This is the first banjo tune I ever wrote back then when I was 18. I call it Hartford stomp named after one of my banjo heroes John Hartford and also because that rafting town was Hartford, Tennessee.
Here’s a clawhammer rendition of that tune on my ML-1 from Gold Tone designed by Fleck
Come check out these upcoming shows where I won’t be playing any clawhammer at all but lots of banjo nonetheless.
