After 20 years of working alongside outfitters, operators, guides, and adventure businesses, Flybook has learned something about choosing software:
There is no such thing as a perfect system.
There is, however, a system that fits the way your business actually works.
Over the years, we’ve heard many of the same questions come up again and again.
Can it handle our resources?
What happens when a guide calls out?
Can it manage more than one type of offering?
What happens when we add another location?
Will our team actually be able to use it?
And perhaps the biggest question of all: Will this still work when our business changes?
Those questions matter because a booking system isn’t just a booking button. Behind every reservation is a team, a guide, a piece of equipment, a guest, a schedule, a weather change, a last-minute phone call — and a whole lot of other moving parts.
That’s why we believe choosing software should start with your operation, not a feature checklist.
After two decades of listening to the people who actually run these businesses, we’ve learned that every operator has different needs, different challenges, and different ways of working. The goal isn’t to find a system that does absolutely everything.
It’s to find one that makes sense for you.
Our latest blog breaks down the questions we think are worth asking before you commit to tour booking software and why sometimes the best question isn’t "Can your system do this?”
It’s “Can you SHOW me how it would work for us?”

Adventure, community, and a whole lot of river time. 🏔️🛶
Flybooker Angel Renee recently joined Caryn Short and the America Outdoors crew, along with a variety of other industry folks, for this year’s fundraiser rafting trip on the Main Salmon — a pretty great way to spend time with the people who make this industry so special.
Flybook is proud to support America Outdoors Association in any way we can, and we’re already looking forward to keeping that momentum going at the America Outdoors Conference this December in Oklahoma City.
See you in OKC! 🤠

Gauley Fest 2026 🤘🌊
There’s something pretty special about getting to give back to the places and people that make the whitewater community what it is.
Flybookers Angel Renee, Jessie Stover, and Alicia Davis Humphries spent the weekend volunteering at Gauley Fest, put on by American Whitewater — an organization doing the important work of protecting rivers, supporting whitewater access, and bringing the paddling community together.
And for these three? The New River and Gauley are home rivers. So showing up to lend a hand, celebrate the community, and get a few laps in is about as good as it gets.
Angel also brought along her camera and captured some seriously fun shots from Sweets Falls. 📸🌊

We love being part of an industry that doesn’t just share a passion for adventure — it shows up for the rivers, communities, and people that make it all possible.
See you on the river. 🤙

Summer operators are finally coming up for air. 🌊
Meanwhile, winter operators are getting ready for their time to shine. ❄️
Which means, depending on where you are, you’re either wrapping up a whirlwind season or gearing up for one, and both are the perfect times to start thinking about staffing.
Because hiring isn’t a seasonal challenge. Finding the right people, getting them trained, keeping them engaged, and building a team you can count on takes planning all year long.
The right staff can make all the difference in how smoothly your operation runs, especially when the busy days hit.
So before the next season sneaks up on you, take a little time to look back, look ahead, and think about the team you want beside you.
We pulled together 9 practical tips in The Ultimate Staffing Guide for Seasonal Operators. 👇

Meet Kinney. 👋
Yes, we know. We’ve said it a thousand times, and we’ll probably say it another thousand: Flybook’s people are just like you.
We’re talking outfitters, operators, guides, concierge folks, and more - the people who know what it’s like when the phone won’t stop ringing and the day refuses to go according to plan.
Kinney has worn plenty of hats in the outdoor industry, and these days she’s wearing an Advisor Hat here at Flybook.
She lives and breathes adventure and brings a whole lot of real-world experience to the table. When a Flybook user calls with a question, a challenge, or an idea they wish the system could tackle, Kinney is often the person helping them work through it. She’s a quick problem solver, a creative thinker, and someone who understands that sometimes the best solutions come from knowing what the job actually looks like on the ground.
We’re grateful for nearly five years of Kinney, and for the creativity, experience, and probably more than a few clever solutions she continues to bring to the team. 🏔️

Some days, Logan’s adventure looks like solving problems behind a screen. Other days, it looks a little more like this. 😎
As one of Flybook’s engineers, Logan spends plenty of time solving problems, dreaming up creative solutions, and bringing a healthy dose of hard work to the table. However, give him the chance to trade the desk for a harness and helmet, and he’s always up for the adventure.
For the past 4 years, Logan has been part of the Flybook team, and we’re pretty glad he’s stuck around. When he’s not helping make Flybook better, you’ll likely find him enjoying his family or spending some time around a campfire, which is especially fitting with crisp fall nights just around the corner. 🔥🍂
So, meet Logan: engineer, problem solver, adventure participant, and future campfire connoisseur.
Thanks for always being willing to get harnessed up and jump into the adventure, Logan!

Work hard. Play hard. And sometimes… work while everyone else is playing. 🍹☀️
Labor Day weekend might mean a long weekend for many, but for outfitters, tour operators, guides, and accommodations, it’s often one of the busiest weekends of the year.
So today, we’re raising a koozie to the people who spent this weekend working hard to give others the chance to get outside, try something new, make memories, and experience an adventure they might not get to live, work, and play in every day.
To all the operators who were slammed this weekend: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re grateful to support the work you do.
The adventures you create matter. And we’re pretty lucky that we get to play a small part in helping you share them with the world.
Happy Labor Day and cheers to everyone who earned that cold drink. 🍻🌊

Think about the last time you were researching something new: a restaurant, hotel, tour, or experience.
You probably found a few options that looked great... until you read the reviews.
Maybe one glowing review convinced you to click “Book Now.” Or maybe a few negative comments sent you right back to the search results.
You’re not alone. 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and 85% say positive reviews make them more likely to choose a business.
So here's the question: How often have reviews convinced you to choose a business, or to keep looking for another option?
For adventure operators, reviews aren't just nice feedback. They're part of the research process and can be the proof a future guest needs to take the next step.

There’s something about being on the water before the rest of the world wakes up.
The early alarm is a little easier, watching the sky slowly turn from dark to gold, and casting a line as the sun comes up, really can’t be beat🌅🎣
For Brenna Hasty, our President, it was one of those Texas mornings that reminds you why the best stories usually start when you step away from the desk and say yes to the adventure.
And honestly? There is no better way to spend a weekend.
