Established in 2025 through the generosity of Dr. Robert Boone, this award honors the legacy of Sonja Olson, RN—a nurse whose career was defined by extraordinary compassion, dedication to her patients, and unwavering support for her fellow clinicians. Their partnership spanned more than 30 years, leaving a lasting mark on the care we deliver today.

Each year, we recognize four outstanding clinicians who embody Sonja’s spirit of excellence (listed from left to right):

Partners In Care, the region’s leading nonprofit hospice, home health, and palliative care provider, today announced the appointment of John Weinsheim as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026, and the upcoming retirement of current CEO Greg Hagfors, who has led the organization since 2022.

Last week, Clinical Operations Director Jenni Carver Ross, RN, and Chief Operations Officer Lisa Hurley represented Partners In Care at the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) Conference.

NPHI is the national voice for nonprofit hospice and advanced illness care, bringing together mission‑driven organizations committed to people over profits. The organization focuses on advocacy, innovation, collaboration, and policy leadership, supporting members with resources, education, and a strong presence in Washington, D.C. to advance high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care.

We’re proud to share that Partners In Care is a new member of NPHI, joining more than 130 nonprofit providers nationwide who are shaping the future of hospice and serious illness care through value‑based models, best practices, and bold advocacy.
