The Summer Commute Challenge is live! The Summer Commute Challenge encourages concert goers and visitors to the Old Mill District to choose greener ways to get around during the busy summer season. Whether you walk, bike, scoot, carpool, or ride the bus, every non-drive-alone trip to a concert at Hayden Homes Amphitheater or a visit to the Old Mill District counts toward the challenge.
Using your Get There Connect account, simply log your trips between June 1 and September 30 to be entered to win prizes throughout the summer.
The grand prize winner will receive a $250 Old Mill District gift bundle, including an Old Mill District gift card that can be used toward concert tickets. Plus, monthly prize drawings will give participants chances to win concert tickets, hoodies, t-shirts, Hydro Flasks, and more!

Open positions for the Deschutes County Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee. Apply and get involved!
Interested in helping shape bicycle and pedestrian transportation in Deschutes County?
Deschutes County is looking for volunteers to serve on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). The committee helps advise on issues related to walking and biking, including road projects, safety, signage and transportation planning across the region.
Current openings include:
• One at-large representative
• One Bend-area representative
Members serve three-year volunteer terms and typically meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
Applications are due by 8 a.m. on May 22. Applicants should submit a resume and letter of interest with their application.

It’s officially week 2 of the May Walk & Roll Challenge. Open to everyone across Central and Eastern Oregon, this challenge celebrates the arrival of spring and encourages you to get around by foot, bike, or any active mode for the chance to win prizes. You have until May 17 to log your trips and join the fun!

North Star Elementary went all out for Earth Day this year with an incredible Walk & Roll to School celebration! 🌎💚
Students, families, and staff gathered at Harvest Park before walking, biking, and scootering to school together, having a fun, active, and eco-friendly start to the day. Around 160 people joined in, including many parents and family members!
A big thank you to Jerry Huegel for sharing this celebration!

This role blends strategy, outreach, and hands-on program delivery to expand education around safe interactions between drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and micromobility users.
