Bend Fly Shop

Time on the water with a buddy, fishing and talking about life is priceless.

Thanks for the photo, Bryon Salaz and for showing me around your old hood. Stripping elbow is setting in.

Chasing Brownies! And making the most of summer ‘26.

Browns! Making the most of summer in Central OR.

With a heavy heart we wrap up our Lower Deschutes summer steelhead season early.

As this year’s return coughs and sputters over Bonneville, I wonder what exactly made these fish suffer so badly. Whatever it is - ocean conditions, interior conditions, sink tips or side planers - I don’t pretend to understand. But I sure hope people don’t lose interest in steelhead and the Lower Deschutes. They need friends.

This Friday 7/31 Dax Messett will be at the shop 11:30-2:30 to hang out and meet the locals. Word on the street is there will be pizza.

Some topics to pick Dax’s brain about while he is here:
• Nám Products and other brands he reps
• The upcoming Rogue Spey Clave
• Pulling all-nighters in Sweden
• The coolest spring creek fishing on the continent.

Dax is a wealth of knowledge and experience, a joy to talk with and be around.

See ya Friday!

Great day to live in Bend.
