The Bend Backyard Farm Project

Mission: An educational center located on a forty-acre ranch on Bend’s west side offering families, schools and individuals programs in how to become more food self-sufficient - starting with designing microclimates at home that mimic the patterns of nature and extend Central Oregon's short growing season. Vision:Our long-range goal is to expand into economically distressed, former logging towns in Central Oregon that are true food deserts. We will teach residents to build backyard farms, then help them to develop local food-based businesses.Committed to strengthening local food security, developing sustainable micro-farming methods and providing local pesticide and herbicide free food to the Bend community.
