First Story is confronting a housing crisis that has made affordable homeownership nearly impossible for many families in the Northwest. We are committed to opening doors for diverse families and transforming lives through homeownership. In partnership with our founder and building partner, Hayden Homes, we bridge the gap for under-resourced families by providing a 30-year, 0% interest, 0-down loan on a move-in ready Hayden Home to qualified families.
Last week, we kicked off wall raising season with Kimberly’s family, Hayden Homes - Central Oregon, the City of Bend, Oregon Government and so many other incredible partners!
Working together, we’re building more than just homes—we’re building pathways to affordable homeownership. We’re thrilled for Kimberly as her journey begins, and can’t wait to celebrate the milestones ahead.

Sisters family finds a new home Dana and Kellen Charpentier and their three children popped a giant balloon filled with confetti in the entryway of their new home on Friday, May 15. The balloon was filled with more than confetti - it also contained the keys to their new place, a home made accessible to them through the First Story...
