We dont hear about this all that much on basic news. Its on social media if you get that kind of feed.... but did you know that a bunch of other countries are putting out new preparedness warnings to its people? In some cases they're sending and mailing physical pamphlets with lists of what to prepare for and what to stock up on. No USA warnings or updates have happened. The USA/FEMA/Red Cross still has the 72 hour preparedness guidance listed on their websites.

Ireland - its “Be Emergency Ready” campaign that started this month advises people to maintain supplies of nonperishable food, drinking water, medicines, and alternative heating methods. They are mailing out over 2 million physical pamphlets. 😶 I'd honestly love to see one of these pamphlets.

European Union (as a whole) ‐ introduced its Preparedness Union Strategy, in April, calling for citizens and governments to prepare for war, cyberattacks, infrastructure failures, pandemics, climate disasters, and disruptions to food, water, energy, and communications. The related guidance has included keeping enough basic supplies to manage for at minimum number of hours.

United Kingdom — households have been urged to keep nonperishable food and water in case of disruptions from extreme weather, cyberattacks, disease outbreaks, conflict, or supply-chain problems. The UK has also talked about the government preparing for a "worst case scenario" of starting up rationing booklets like they did in WW2 😳

How long do they suggest....

Slovenia has the highest clear national food-specific recommendation that I could find of atleast 30 days.

Austria: 10–14 days.
Germany: 10 days under federal civil-protection.
Sweden: at least 1 week.

The USA, Finland, Canada, The UK, The EU and several other countries all recommend at least 72 hours.

Reminder, I'm not telling you to panic. I'm telling you to be aware and be prepared so you don't have to (maybe) panic later.

I love helping others get a little more food secure. 🐰 Today Im sending 3 does off with Splash of Socialism so they can set up a rabbit colony themselves. Also sending some food to transition to the stuff they have locally and some curly willow branches to feed and some to root and plant. Also sending a sandwich bag full of Sainfoin seeds to establish some fodder for next year. 🖖

Apparently today's national coffee day. ☕️How do you drink your coffee?
I drink new orleans style coffee we make in s
French press. With whole milk and raw sugar. Occasionally I'll add an egg to it.

Trump is using more taxpayer dollars to run television ads promoting Trump. The administration just rolled out another taxpayer-funded spot centered on the president one of the ads the White House is calling a “public service announcement.” The latest minute-long ad features Trump speaking against the backdrop of Mount Rushmore and ends with him declaring: “This is only the beginning of the golden age of America.” And at the end? “Paid for by the U.S. Government.”

Remember what they wrote about the food systems in Project 2025....?

I memba.

Yikes

This one isn’t too surprising. 🤣🤣🤣

💧 I got real tired of washing dishes by hand all the time. We had to rip out our old dishwasher around 2018 because the previous owners installed it wrong and the steam caused some rot under the counter. We ripped out and fixed the counter but we never reinstalled a dishwasher. It never seemed to work well anyway and Im using the old under counter space for trash and recycling cans plus a grey water bucket we use to water the compost pile. 🤷‍♀️

So I used some expiring cc points and we got a hold of a portable dishwasher. It can hold all our dinner dishes but we still gotta do large bowls and pans by hand. That I dont mind. I set the drainage to go into our grey water bucket since we already use grey water safe soaps. We are using less water and time this way. Its energy efficient and says it only uses about $15 of electricity a year. Idk how accurate that is but its seems to work really well. 🍴

Again Im not sponsored, I'm not selling anything. I get nothing from posting stuff like this I just like sharing the things I do in hopes of helping someone else make a decision. 🖖

Fafo sucks cause we all got hurt, but damn. We told ya'll. 🙄
