One Two Coyote

It’s a study in color layering, oils over acrylic, in blending and flow. It’s letting your brain remember a feeling and a place. I like to call them color memories and it how I love to get back into painting when I’ve been gone for awhile. There is so much to be learned in just letting it go to find it again.

Had a fun little side quest designing some new merch for the fine folks over at Salmon Raft

They have an amazing guide service on some of the most gorgeous stretches of river I’ve ever been on. So this was so fun to bring to life. You can purchase merch though their website. Or even better, book a trip!

I have thought about the shape, seasons and bloom of Rabbitbrush for so many years. My first trip to New Mexico, all I did was take photos of Chamisa and Chrysothamnus. And yes, while their bright sea of yellow in the late summer and fall is stunning, think they’re most beautiful in winter and early spring. It’s completely exposed in it’s dormant beauty, waiting to come round again. Right before the bloom.
