Face for engagement. New podcast equipment on second slide. Another year 'round the sun for me. I've been doing the show out of a USB Blue Yeti mic for almost 50 episodes. Only exception was recording with in his fancy home studio with his own equipment, and he brought some of the magic to me for my birthday. So I have no choice but to ramp up episodes again.

How cool is being a regional metal microcelebrity? How can you even test that? Theo sits down with returning guests Chris Ramusiewicz (ig ) and Dan Saillant (ig ) of the various bands listed below ( et. al), and tests to see who's rubbing elbows with metal's celebrities/most infamous with the Six Degrees of Separation game. Choices range from Seth Putnam to Gerard Way in an oddly focused episode. Tangents include insane cover band profits.

🩸 MEME DUMP 🩸 I might have had a dry spell. Some new OC and we'll see how long I can keep the ball rolling for. I didn't want to go with the obvious joke, but there is a horror movie called Incantation so good enough!

In defiance of regional borders and established podcast norms, Theo talks to Pennsylvania's most interesting dissodeath mobs, David Moody and Chris Sheppard of Veilburner (ig ). Prolific, strange, on the Transcending Obscurity label, it's exactly the kind of band we like hearing from. Tangents include satanic panic, publicity stunts, and Enslaved.

Stuck in the long wait for Somergloom 2026, Theo talks to fest veterans Lesotho (ig )...for another hour. Is it tacky to wait two weeks for an episode you split in two? Are wojaks problematic? I thought he was cute on the thumbnail. But I only post this out of love for Lesotho, and "A Flashing on Plain Glass" drops next week so my timing is impeccable! Enjoy a bonus episode of tangents (inc. FB Marketplace, nostalgia for AIM, Kanye West's apology, and gassing up our friends in Tears From a Grieving Heart) and whatever else.

Stuck in the long wait for Somergloom 2026, Theo talks to fest veterans Lesotho (ig ). About shifting styles and vision within post-rock, pop sensibilities (complimentary), as well as anything else we can ramble about. It was fun! And there's a part two on the horizon of outtakes and straight up goofing, but tangents still include Deep Cuts sandwiches and favorite God Is An Astronaut moments.

I'm tired of performatively calling every year a dumpster fire. In terms of music and relationships, what better year was there? Theo sits down with Mike Burns of Din (ig: ), not for an interview, but for sharing our top five albums of the year (per person). Lots of weird death metal. A couple of podcast guest throwbacks. And only one overlapping choice! Plus lots of unedited banter and love, live from Mike's home studio. There are great, interesting, new, exciting things coming next year from us.

🫠 MEME DUMP 🫠 As usual did slides uhhhh 3/4/6, and he'll be more than just an unpaid joke intern but that's for the year's final two episodes! I'm not dead yet. Never plan to be. 2026 is gonna be the best year for the podcast if everything goes to plan.

Theo's favorite album release gimmick is the no-promo surprise release. It's fun. It's mysterious. It's doing everything on hard mode, so when Fallen Monarch (ig ) released "The Reflecting Grave" back in September, I had to lend a helping hand to some of my favorite guys. Vocalist Adam Cutler talks all things music and logistics. Tangents include Sleep Token (again?)
(Look I finished this whole thing at midnight on a work night)

What are the kids into these days? Theo talks to Bonginator (ig .ma) about their riffs, their silly death metal/synthwave homage to horror and vintage cheese, and their meteoric rise too, right before a new album drop and nationwide headlining tour. Uhhhh buy "Retrodeath" on cassette for the true experience, it's a banger in this household. Tangents include fiber intake, energy drinks, Things (1989), and singer/songwriter Madeline "Midwife" Johnston.
