I'm a nonbinary UX designer and researcher currently located in the Greater Seattle Area. Despite having lived in Texas, Louisiana, and even Ecuador, it's my favorite place I've ever resided. I felt called to UX design after being the guinea pig test participant for several friends who were in an HCI course, and upon taking it myself, discovered it was the perfect blend of my business and tech dou

The results of a crazy 8s exercise yesterday! Even when working in figjam by , I really prefer sketching on paper and using the last minute to upload pictures of my stickies π
what's your fave ideation exercise? π
Description: very rough sketches of a screen showing security questions, done in black Flair pen on turquoise sticky notes.

Our people are back from their LA trip and brought me the COOLEST book, along with a lovely bookmark to accompany me as I read it, and a postcard for my collection π₯° I'll share my favorite snippets from the book in my stories!

Ok I *know* that taking pictures of your monitor is cringe, but I just HAD to share my lil creation that has changed the game when it comes to copypasta-ing my Figma frames between platforms π
1. Make an annotation component in your design system using your biggest, chunkiest title font. Give it some auto layout. Make that bish a nice contrast from your branding, like yellow. β¨
2. Throw it in your file and duplicate your frame title into that guy. Make sure both are descriptive of content- one of my biggest pet peeves is going into someone else's file and all their titles are the same π¬
3. Here's the magical bit: when you cmd/ctrl+C that frame, include the title component in your selection and TADA, you preserve your frame title between platforms π
Game changer for sharing to Jira especially, as those without Figma access will have so much more context for what's going on in the frame. You're welcome π

Been a while since I've posted work cuz, ya know, NDA's exist. But here's a taste of the sketchy wireframes I LOVE taking the time to do!! (Be sure to swipe to see my materials of choice!)
I think rough wireframes are a KEY part of the UX process, thoughts?

Flat lay of my supplies to get sketching today! I know it's been ages since I've posted but I work so hard and fast here I don't have much to show. Hoping to post more now that I'm hitting the job hunt!

Today I really felt like being creative and decided to make good use of the fact that I unpacked my βοΈβοΈ I've missed my fancy script! Good to know I just have to pick up a fountain pen and it returns. Grateful to have these skills, and friends to write notes to.
π: If you want to see why I'm writing thank you notes, peep the story on π₯°
π·: Pen was a gift from and my dad two Christmases ago π; notepad from ; cards from like 3 years ago (I'm bad about hoarding lol); washi tape from π

You've probably noticed I've been pretty quiet for several months now... Truth be told, I was getting burnt out on design π³ After my layoff in July, I spent time travelling and doing what I love most: cooking.π©βπ³ I've decided to change career paths and focus on food for a while. You can see what I'm making over on my personal account, (the collage here is some of the great things I've made!!) πππ₯ͺπ
Now I'm not completely stopping designing, a lady's gotta pay bills and keep her skills, but I'm pursuing a job in a kitchen while freelancing. I'll post more here as I get work. π³βπ» Thanks for all your support so far, and I hope you'll continue following my adventures π
