Five are British Royal Marines who were stationed there around 1853/1856 during the "Pig War" US/Canada border disputes. Great Annual Council Meeting (ACM) of all the WA State DBE Chapters was held in March in Edmonds WA. This is our yearly State/Chapters business meeting, along with a wonderful British lunch, super raffle baskets, and a very fun centerpiece competition! We also celebrate the lovely woman who with much foresight in 1909, started DBE in the USA, Sarah Josephine Langstaff. This is our Founder's Day event, along with the ACM. Our Royal Oak Chapter meeting was held today...day after St Paddy's Day, so we all had some green 💚 Irish in us or on us! Members also attended via zoom. Queen's Puff for lunch... mashed potatoes, sausages, spinach, eggs and cheese. Just like the Old Country! DBE Washington

The Annual Council Meeting (ACM) of the WA State DBE was a great success! Fantastic British food catered lunch by the Saucy Sailor from Kingston. Huge British trifle, shortbread and lemon bars for dessert. Business was completed as required by our nonprofit charity organization. Everyone had a great time! Church in Edmonds, off 196th Ave. Come see what all of our Chapters have been doing this past year! Get to know your sister DBEers! Super fun Royal Oak Chapter holiday luncheon...so wonderful to see DBE "sisters" that we don't see in person often enough - but at least zoom keeps us in touch! A big decorated tree and gift exchange too.
