Root & Rise Birth Doula

Since becoming a doula, the question most asked by family and friends is, "So, what exactly does a doula do?"

And the answer is really dependent on what each unique client needs but the list above and continued here paints a better picture:
▫️Help you identify and practice labor coping mechanisms that work for you
▫️Encourage you to know your options and create a birth plan so you can advocate for your wants and needs during labor
▫️Suggest and assist with pain management techniques during the birth process as needed
▫️Can be constant presence as care providers may revolve and maintain a calm and comfortable environment
▫️Support your partner through the birth experience as it can be overwhelming
▫️Connect you with other prenatal and postpartum resources such as pelvic floor PT's, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, mom's/parent's support groups, therapists…
▫️Meet with you in the postpartum to check in and make sure you are adjusting and feel supported during this new phase of life
