Attn CannaGuard customers. Most of you have already heard, but for those who haven’t, CannaGuard is shutting down. Lots of fight to save it as a business and business model, but it just couldn’t sustain the huge up’s and downs. If you or someone you know is a CannaGuard customer and you haven’t checked your email in the last month or two...you need to connect with one of our partner security companies to transfer your monitoring. Email [email protected] for a list of providers that can keep you compliant. Please spread the word as we can’t continue to monitor alarms or service systems. It’s been an honor working with everyone the last 5 years! We wish you luck and success! Sincerely, Noah Stokes.

"This industry didn’t expand because of a memo issued by a deputy attorney general, or because some governments simply decided they wanted to benefit from the tax revenue that legal cannabis could bring their states. It happened because of the decades of work by ma*****na reform activists and policy organizations, without whose efforts today’s businesses could not exist."
A great read detailing how banding together in this industry has brought legal cannabis business much farther than the Cole Memo ever had, more below:
The Cannabis Industry Needs To Support Advocacy. Here's Why The cannabis industry is built on a foundation constructed by the ma*****na-reform movement. Attorney General Jeff Sessions' recent rescinding of the Cole Memo should be a wake-up call to legal cannabis businesses and serve as a call to action to give back to the advocacy movement.

The city of SLO (San Luis Obispo) could be one of the first cities in Central-California to open up recreational dispensaries in the months to come. In an initiative spurred on in large part due to City Council members and other community members speaking up, it's deeply encouraging to see the toxic prejudice towards the cannabis industry dwindle.

Oregon has continually stayed at the cusp of the ever-evolving cannabis industry, so it's no surprise that Bend-based industry leaders are starting an organization to highlight the positive impact that legal cannabis brings to Oregon. Named "Celebrate Cannabis", founding board member Jennifer Clifton writes:
“Now it’s time for legal cannabis – one of the fastest growing sectors locally and globally – to finally have a seat at the table in Central Oregon when it comes to both perceptions and regulations that affect our industry. We feel this is truly something to celebrate.”
