Alphabet City, nestled in the East Village within Manhattan, New York City, gets its name from the unique Avenues A, B, C, and D. Notably, these are the only avenues in Manhattan distinguished by single-letter names. This design is a parody on the iconic children’s television series Sesame Street, which has strong ties to the alphabet.

A graphic glimpse back to Beacon New York’s historic, retired Matteawan Train Station. Built in 1869, this building still stands today at 493 Main Street, but the train line is no longer active. Swing by to see for yourself and visit the shops that are there today!
