💜💛 Bilingual Story Time at Gardere!

Yesterday, we welcomed students from LSU for a special bilingual story time with our children! Our little readers enjoyed stories in both English and Spanish, followed by some colorful creativity of their own!

We love seeing our children learn, create, and have fun together. A big thank you to our LSU students for spending such a wonderful afternoon with us! 💛

📚✨ Prime Time is officially underway at Gardere! ✨🎨🎶

Yesterday, we kicked off our bilingual family literacy program with an evening full of food, stories, creativity, and family fun!

Our families shared a delicious meal together, gathered for a special story time, and ended the evening enjoying arts and music activities.

We’re so excited for all the wonderful memories, learning, and family connections to come! 💕📚

✨ Another great LYFE Thursday! ✨

Our youth had a wonderful time learning, laughing, and experiencing something new! 💛 We enjoyed a special performance from the Baton Rouge Symphony 🎻🎶 and welcomed the LSU Department of Psychiatry, who shared valuable information with our children. 🧠✨

A big thank you to our amazing community partners for making this such a fun and meaningful day! 💕🌟

☀️ What does sunshine mean to you? 💛

For Sunshine Day, our Gardere kids shared from the heart what brings light, joy, and warmth into their lives. Their answers remind us that sometimes the brightest sunshine comes from within. ✨

Thanks to Lael Montgomery who shared traumatic experiences during his formative years did not shape his life. Writing about his feelings and the military changed the trajectory of his life . He graduated from college and has served as a Zachary City Councilman.

The Gardere Initiative is grateful to receive funding from Capital Area United Way to support our children and families.

This investment means more opportunities, more resources, and greater impact in the Gardere community. 🌱

🌱 Back to Our Garden Day! Our kids helped prepare the garden beds for a new season of planting and learning. Grateful to Grant for his continued support of the Gardere Initiative and our kids. 💚🌿

Gardere Initiative is now the Red Cross in Gardere!

We are excited to announce our new partnership with the American Red Cross Capital-West Chapter.

In the event of an emergency, Gardere Initiative will be a place for the Gardere community to come and access expanded resources.

Through this partnership, the Red Cross is also providing laptops, tablets, a solar-powered generator to help us keep the lights on during bad weather, and free CPR training for 50 local youth and staff.
