Pelicans rally past Spurs with dominant second half
The New Orleans Pelicans have looked good when Zion Williamson is on the floor this season, but against the San Antonio Spurs, they took a major step forward by maintaining and extending their lead even while he sat on the bench. In a surprising comeback, the Pelicans erased a 17-point deficit and dominated the San Antonio Spurs on their way to a 114-96 win on Sunday night. A strong second-half defensive effort and contributions from the entire roster fueled New Orleans’ second win in its last three games.

Pelicans fade late as Kings’ hot shooting hands New Orleans 10th straight loss
For more than three quarters the New Orleans Pelicans battled the Sacramento Kings in a game that featured 13 lead changes and a dozen ties, but once again, the Pelicans couldn’t close the deal. With just over five minutes to play, rookie Antonio Reeves drilled a corner three to cut Sacramento’s lead to 104-102, giving the Pelicans a chance to steal a much-needed win.

It’s one thing to get beaten. It’s another to get completely buried under a three-point avalanche, and that’s exactly what happened to the New Orleans Pelicans in Oklahoma City. The Pelicans allowed a franchise-worst 27 threes on 55 attempts, making it clear that New Orleans didn’t have the talent to compete with the NBA’s best team on either end of the floor.
