We feel our primary role at Makaira Landscape Design is to assure the client from the beginning that they have found their designer, project manager and installer. We are a fully functional design-build company, with offices in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana. We will provide you with the best customer experience possible by listening to you and providing you with a level of detail and attention that is unmatched. Our overall goal is to see to it that your quality of life is better when you are at the end of the design-build process. Our time with you is our greatest commitment. We design your space so that it is beyond your expectations. We turn your outdoor space into an area that reflects you and your home. Our partnership with the homeowner is to ensure that the design, budget of the project, and installation is carried out to its full potential. Our design package lets you see the vision and the beauty of your dream space. From the birth of the design and throughout we will meet regularly to ensure the client is content with the progressing project. We understand that making a dream a reality is a tremendous financial commitment and we are there to ensure that the project stays on budget.
A great landscape installation is more than planting shrubs and laying mulch.
It’s about balance, scale, texture, drainage, lighting, and creating a design that complements the architecture of the home while adding long-term value to the property.
At Makaira Landscape + Pools, every landscape is thoughtfully designed and professionally installed with attention to every detail — from plant selection and bed layout to irrigation, grading, and clean finishing work.
The difference between average and exceptional is in the craftsmanship.
We believe outdoor spaces should feel intentional, timeless, and built to mature beautifully for years to come.
Where quality meets curb appeal.

The pool may be the focal point… but the landscape is what brings it to life.
At Makaira, we don’t see them as separate elements. Every plant, texture, and layer is intentionally designed to blend seamlessly with the water, the architecture, and the overall experience.
The result isn’t just a pool or a yard—it’s a complete outdoor environment.
That’s the difference between installing features… and creating outdoor luxury.

A landscape should never compete with the architecture — it should frame it, elevate it, and belong to it.
This project was designed with that philosophy from day one. Clean lines, structured plantings, and classic southern materials that complement the home rather than overpower it.
Now, as this property heads into its first spring, the landscape will begin to mature and settle into the vision we had from the start.
At Makaira, that balance between architecture and landscape is what we strive to get right every time.
