Almost every first-time visitor asks us some version of the same question. Sometimes in the parking lot, sometimes weeks later over coffee:

'Do you really mean it?'

Do we really mean ALL are welcome? Do we really mean they can serve, lead, marry, belong fully?

Yes. We really mean it.

We understand the question, though. Many of us asked it too, once. When you've been burned by fine print, you learn to read carefully.

So read carefully: You. Are. Welcome. Here. All of you. For real. 💜

You can love God and still be angry at the church.

You can carry deep faith and deep doubt in the same heart.

You can be grateful for where you came from and still need to leave it.

You can be q***r and Christian, not despite each other, but woven together into something whole.

We live in a world that demands we pick a side of ourselves. The Gospel makes no such demand. You are not a contradiction. You are a person, beloved, complex, and whole.

Both things are true. All of you is welcome. 💜

Drag yourself to church was amazing! Kandy Cayne’s performance was one you didn’t want to miss!

It's 10:58 on a Sunday morning, and someone is sitting in their car in our parking lot.

They've been sitting there for ten minutes. Engine off. Hands in their lap.

They found us online weeks ago. Read every post. Watched the videos. Wondered if 'all are welcome' could possibly mean them.

If you've ever been that person in the parking lot, heart pounding, hand on the door handle, we want you to know: we've been that person too. Half our congregation has.

And we want you to know what's on the other side of that door: someone who will smile and say, 'we're glad you're here.' And mean it.

Whenever you're ready. We'll be here. 💜

Here's something beautiful about communion at MCC Baton Rouge:

Every single Sunday, people come to the table who were once turned away from other tables. People who were told they couldn't serve. Couldn't marry. Couldn't belong. Couldn't come as they are.

And here they stand, hands open, fully known, fully welcome.

We practice open communion. That means no membership requirement, no theology test, no identity checkpoint. If you are hungry for grace, the table is set for you.

The table is long, friends. There's a place with your name on it. 🍞💜
