Early Medieval people thought of children as “Incomplete Adults”. What a huge conundrum when depicting Baby Jesus. He was perfect from birth and couldn’t be seen as imperfect.

To get around the problem, they depicted him as an old man- often with a receding hairline.

When Jesus had 3 Heads like his colleagues.

In the early Medieval times, Jesus was depicted with 3HEADS. But then in 1628 the Pope said, “Hell No! He looks like a Pagan God!” So the Catholic Church either destroyed or put into hiding, all 3Headed Jesus paintings.

Sad really, bc I liked him better with three heads.
