What an incredible turnout we had last week at the Scotlandville Cultural Center!
We came together to roll up our sleeves, get our hands in the dirt, and celebrate the beauty of our community.
From planting fresh herbs and vegetables in our new raised beds to seeing the solar fountain in action, the progress we’ve made is nothing short of inspiring. And of course, no community gathering is complete without some good food and even better conversation! ✨
A Special Acknowledgment: We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anthony B. Kenney Scotlandville District 2 leader, for his presence and continued support. Leadership that shows up for the community is what truly makes a difference, and we are grateful for your partnership in making this event a success.
A huge THANK YOU to every volunteer, neighbor, and partner who showed up to help us grow. This is what it looks like when we pour purpose and passion back into our home.
The garden is growing, the fountain is flowing, and our community spirit has never been stronger. Stay tuned for what’s coming next!

We believe a beautiful space creates a stronger community. Whether you have a green thumb or just want to lend a helping hand, come join us for Beautifying Our Courtyard! We’re teaming up with the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation and The Walls Project to transform our garden into a lovely sanctuary for everyone to enjoy. 🌸
Everything you need is provided:
✅ Tools & Gloves 🧤
✅ Refreshments to keep you fueled 🥤
✅ Good vibes & community spirit! 🤝
📍 Where: Scotlandville Cultural Center | 8700 Booker Street

What an incredible Friday spent honoring our past and building our future at the History Trail Unveiling! 🏛️✨
We had a powerful day celebrating the East Baton Rouge Parish Black History Trail System in the heart of North Blvd Town Square. From the moving morning invocation to exploring the rich legacy of our community, the energy was truly inspiring.
Highlights:
Legacy Trail Dedication: We officially kicked things off with a beautiful ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new community spaces.
Cultural Deep Dive: We spent time at the Scotlandville Cultural Center booth, learning about the Biblical Ancestry of Black America and the deep roots of the Scotlandville community.
Community Connection: It was amazing to see everyone—from local leaders to groups like Girls on the Run—coming together to support our shared history.
Looking Ahead: We’re not just looking back; we’re working together to "Build Our Future" through education and cultural preservation.
A huge thank you to the Downtown Development District, Envision NBR, and The Walls Project for making this historic day possible!
