The Arc Baton Rouge

🍿🎬 Friday night was a blockbuster success! Our in-home individuals and staff enjoyed an amazing Movie Night filled with laughter, snacks, great company, and unforgettable memories. There’s nothing better than coming together to relax, have fun, and enjoy a good movie. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special! ❤️

Thank you to The Arc of Louisiana for continuing to advocate for individuals with disabilities, families, and providers across our state.

We were proud to stand alongside self-advocates, families, and fellow Arc chapters yesterday to help highlight the importance of sustainable HCBS funding and quality community-based services in Louisiana.

Every voice matters, and together we will continue advocating for the supports individuals need to live, work, and thrive in their communities.

Both of our Day Habs have been actively engaged in creative activities. Metro participants enjoyed time in Arts & Crafts, while Centerwell and Jefferson participants successfully completed pottery projects. Everyone showed great participation and creativity throughout their sessions.

We had an amazing time at our bead event this past Saturday! 💜💛💚

A special shoutout to the students from LSU Manship School of Mass Communication who selected The Arc Baton Rouge for their marketing project. Throughout this journey, they’ve shown incredible dedication and worked hard to advocate for our bead donation efforts and it truly showed!

On Saturday, we were also joined by an awesome group of volunteers, including students from LSU, Catholic High, The Arc and St. Joseph’s Academy. Their support made such a meaningful impact as they helped our individuals sort beads with care and enthusiasm.

We’d also like to extend a big THANK YOU to Raising Cane's for providing drinks and keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day! 🥤

This weekend, Darius and his father, Mr. Clifford, showed up and showed out at the Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR) Active for Autism Walk representing our organization! 💙 Moments like these remind us how powerful community, family, and advocacy truly are.

A powerful experience at Capital Area Regional Training Academy 📸✨

Our individuals had the opportunity to learn about the structure and discipline behind law enforcement training. CARTA is a rigorous program designed to prepare officers through over 600 hours of instruction, including physical fitness, defensive tactics, weapons training, legal education, and classroom learning.

Being exposed to this environment gave our individuals a deeper understanding of teamwork, responsibility, and the dedication it takes to serve and protect a community. It also encouraged confidence, focus, and respect for structure—skills that can be applied in everyday life.

We’re proud to provide opportunities that open minds, build character, and inspire growth 💪🏽🌟

Spring is in full bloom, and so are the smiles at Jefferson Dayhab! 🌸🐾 From BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo adventures to sunny park days, this week was full of fresh air, laughter, and beautiful memories. 🧡

Creativity in motion 🎨 A few of our individuals enjoyed a wonderful community outing at a pottery class, expressing themselves through art and hands-on learning.

💛 Giving back in action! A few of our individuals volunteered at today’s Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank outing alongside our new Community Engagement team member, Ms. Latashia. Together, we’re making a difference—one act of service at a time 👏🏾✨They were able to fill over 1,500 bags today! Setting a new record! Check out the reel on our page!
