We are proud to announce that 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 has successfully performed the first 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐑𝐃𝐍) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞 for Baton Rouge Cardiology Center at Baton Rouge General.

For many patients, healthy lifestyle changes and blood pressure medications are effective. However, some adults continue to have 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 despite these efforts.

Renal denervation is an innovative, minimally invasive, catheter-based procedure that complements existing treatments for high blood pressure. Using radiofrequency energy, the procedure reduces overactive nerves surrounding the kidneys that contribute to elevated blood pressure, offering an additional treatment option for patients with uncontrolled hypertension.

❤️ High blood pressure is often called the "silent killer" because it may not cause symptoms but can significantly increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, kidney disease, and other serious health conditions. Better blood pressure control can help reduce these risks.

This Memorial Day, the Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana once again hosted the Memorial Day Garden of Flags on the grounds of the Louisiana State Capital. Each flag placed in the field represents a hero - a son, daughter, husband, wife, family member, or friend - who gave their life in service to our nation. Walking through the Garden is a powerful and solemn reminder that freedom is not free. ❤️
