Welcome, October. šŸ‚

A new month, a fresh breath, and a little room to care for yourself.

To our members, our neighbors, and those we haven’t met yet—we hope this month brings you moments of movement, meaningful connection, and rest you give yourself freely.

Whether you’re finding your rhythm, beginning again, or simply taking things one day at a time, every small step counts. You don’t have to have it all together to make time for yourself.

With love from your Move Your Body Yoga community.

THIRD EYE CHAKRA | AJNA | I SEE

The third eye invites us to look beyond what is immediately in front of us and pay attention to what is happening within.

This week, we’re exploring insight, intuition, and discernment.

What do I know about myself?
What am I assuming?
What have I been too busy—or too afraid—to notice?

Trusting your intuition doesn’t mean believing every thought that passes through your mind. Discernment asks us to pause, look again, and be open to learning something new. Sometimes clarity confirms what we already know. Sometimes it changes our perspective.

Ajna is traditionally associated with the space between the eyebrows, the color indigo, and the sound Om. In our practice, these are invitations to focus our attention and make room for reflection.

You don’t need to have all the answers to begin. Come to the mat willing to see yourself with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

I quiet the noise. I trust what I see within.

This week, we’re moving into the Throat Chakra — Vishuddha, and at its core, this week is about finding and honoring your voice.

Not just the voice you use to speak out loud. It’s also about being able to say what you mean, ask for what you need, listen without immediately preparing a response, and recognize when something needs to be said — and when silence is actually the more intentional choice.

We’ll explore communication through movement and breath, creating space through the neck, shoulders, chest and upper body. But the physical practice is really an invitation to notice something deeper:

Am I communicating from a place that is true to me?

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room for your voice to matter. You don’t have to explain everything. And you don’t have to have the perfect words.

Sometimes honoring your voice sounds like yes.
Sometimes it sounds like no.
Sometimes it sounds like I need help.
Sometimes it sounds like I don’t know yet.
And sometimes it means getting quiet enough to actually listen.

That’s where we’re going this week.

I speak my truth.
I listen.
I communicate with intention.
My voice matters.

Thank you, Curate. šŸ’—

What an incredible experience to be part of Curate ’26: Completely Unconfused — The Will & The Way in New Orleans, La.

Curate has created something special—a space where women can learn, lead, connect, grow, build, care for themselves, and be reminded that we do not have to separate who we are from how we work, lead, and live.

Move Your Body Yoga was honored to serve within that vision through the practice of yoga wellness.

Through movement, breath, and intentional moments of pause, we had the opportunity to create space for women to come back to themselves—to move their bodies, settle their minds, and simply breathe.

Because wellness belongs in these rooms, too.

To Victoria Armstrong and the entire Curate team, thank you for the invitation, the trust, and for recognizing that caring for the woman is part of empowering the professional.

And to every woman who joined us in practice—thank you.

Curate, what you are building matters. We were honored to be part of it.

What a beautiful feature for Move Your Body Yoga. šŸ’ššŸ’™šŸ’›

Southern University senior and former Jaguar baseball player Kameron Byrd chose Move Your Body Yoga as the subject of an assignment for his Sports Writing class — and what he created was such a thoughtful reflection of our studio and our community.

Kameron is completing his degree in Mass Communication/Broadcasting this December, and if this piece is any indication of what’s ahead for him, we are excited to watch his journey.

Thank you, Kameron, for choosing MYBY and for telling our story so beautifully.

This past Sunday, we welcomed Southern University Baseball into Move Your Body Yoga for yoga athletic wellness. šŸ’™šŸ’›

For young athletes, wellness extends beyond training, conditioning and competition. Learning how to intentionally breathe, slow down, recover and listen to the body is part of caring for the athlete as a whole.

The breath work alone matters. Intentional breathing creates space to reset the nervous system from the physical and mental demands of training and competition.

And then we move.

Mobility. Flexibility. Balance. Body awareness. Rest. Recovery.

The yoga mat gives athletes space to work on all of it without asking their bodies to perform, compete or produce. Sometimes the work is simply learning how to slow down enough to listen.

Developing those tools early can support these young men not only in their sport, but in how they care for their bodies throughout their lives.

It’s always good having the Jaguars in studio. šŸ’™šŸ’›
