What is functional medicine? It's root cause medicine. ๐
Symptoms are signals, not enemies. They're your body telling you why something needs attention.
Think about the dashboard in your car. You wouldn't ignore the oil light and just keep driving. Eventually, you'd have to pull over.
Your body works the same way. Flares, fatigue, pain, brain fog: that's your body saying "Hey, look at this."
So instead of silencing the signal, we find the why. When we give the body what it needs, it has the ability to heal over time.
Curious what's behind your symptoms? Book a functional medicine consultation with me in Baton Rouge. Link in bio.

Your closet is a timeline of who youโve been. ๐งต
New CommuniTEA episode. I sat down with Kristy Kernan, vintage clothing curator and upcycling designer behind Lion Brigade, who turns old linens, blankets, lace doilies and heirloom pieces into garments you can actually wear again.
Sheโs made handkerchief dresses out of a friendโs scarves. Sheโs turned a motherโs wedding dress into a robe for her daughterโs wedding day, with both wedding dates embroidered inside the lapels.
Hereโs the line that stayed with me: clothes can be powerful tools as far as looking at different decades of our life. You pull one piece out of the closet and the whole season comes back with it.
And sometimes we outgrow a season. When youโre ready to release a piece, thank it first, then let it go so it can bless someone else.
Kristy is opening a sewing studio right here in Baton Rouge, a space where people can bring their heirlooms and make something together. We were never meant to do life in isolation. We need community to thrive.

Only one thyroid test? That's not the full picture. ๐ฆ
If your provider only checked TSH, you may not know what your thyroid is actually doing in your body.
T4 is the storage form. Free T3 is the active thyroid hormone, the one your body really uses.
Think of pulling up to the gas station. You don't care about the truck filling the pump. You care about getting gas into your car. That's free T3.
Fatigue, weight changes, brain fog, feeling cold, hair-thinning. These deserve more than "your labs are fine."
Find a provider who listens to you and tests more than one thing when it comes to your thyroid.
Want a deeper look at your thyroid health? Book a consultation at The Miracle Wellness Center. Link in bio.

Think fasting is a quick fix for a bad weekend?
If you're high-stress, it might backfire.
Fasting can push your body into fight-or-flight, increasing cortisol and glucose.
Wendy was struggling with brain fog, stomach pain, or GI issues before she discovered Dr. Lynn at Miracle Wellness Center.
She listens, finds her root cause, and delivers life-changing results.
