“Yesterday — Charlie Parker's birthday — at Marcus Garvey Park, It was my honor to present the 2026 Jazz Journalists Association Award for "Best Rising Star Musician" to Nicole Glover, who had just received a standing ovation for a master class set in the art of the tenor-bass-drums trio with Tyrone Allen and Kayvon Gordon.

Artemis, which Maestra Glover has played with for 6 years, also won JJA's "Best MidSized Ensemble" Award, and I passed along her individual award for that.”

Artemis will be celebrating the Fourth of July weekend in downtown lowa City at the 2026 lowa City Jazz Festival! 🎆

ARTEMIS is excited for our upcoming debut performances in Wisconsin! May 14 in Milwaukee at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, May 15 in Appleton at Lawrence University’s Memorial Chapel, and May 16 at the Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake! Hope to see you there! 🎶

Artemis will soon be performing at the legendary Gilmore Piano Festival in Kalamazoo-zoo-zoo-zoo-zoo! 😉

The band was honored to perform the world premiere of a Carnegie Hall commission, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming” by Renee Rosnes.
