Louisiana Legislature has just passed some major new tax bills that are headed to Governor Jeff Landry’s desk to be signed. Over the past several years Louisiana has been the only gulf state to lose population on a yearly basis. A large reason for this exodus of Louisiana residents is the complicated and outdated tax code that crippled many Louisiana citizens. After three weeks of special session, our new tax reform is expected to be signed and become law.

Republicans have officially won a majority of the seats in the House of Representatives, completing the “Trifecta” of having a Republican President and majority in both the Senate and House.

The next two years will be very pivotal for the Republican Party. If the country sees massive growth and success, we could see more people join and view the Republican Party as favorable. If our country regresses, it will cause both political parties to reevaluate themselves in order to form a better political system for all American citizens.

Fox calls Pennsylvania for Trump. Assuming everything stands as is, Trump will be the 47th President of the United States!

Trump is officially projected to win Georgia. If Trump wins any of the blue wall states he will likely win the election.

Republicans are officially projected to take majority of the Senate after flipping two critical seats. It remains to be seen if Republicans will hold a majority in the House, but this is huge news in regards to the Legislative branch.

Donald Trump is officially projected to win North Carolina.

North Carolina is the first swing state to be announced and has been won all three times Donald Trump has ran for presidency.

This is where the map currently stands with many votes still being counted. It appears that Kamala’s best path to winning the election is winning the blue wall states (Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania), with her campaign saying that the results of the election won’t be known until sometime tomorrow at the earliest.

Many people recall in 2020 when Trump went into the night leading in many states, only to wake up the following morning with Joe Biden ultimately winning the election. Republicans won’t sleep easy unless the race is called tonight, and if counting goes into tomorrow the Democrats will still have hope.

Here is a great map showcasing when polling closes in each state. The first states to pay attention to are Florida, Georgia, Virginia (can Trump flip it?) and North Carolina. Votes are already being counted in parts of Kentucky and Indiana!

Friendly reminder that the election essentially comes down to the 7 states that are not colored (though Arizona is leaning Republican it is still considered a swing state.) Out of all the swing states, Pennsylvania is considered the most important as it boasts 19 electoral votes, meaning whoever wins that state will be in prime position to reach 270 total electoral votes and officially become the next president of the United States.

According to AtlasIntel, (deemed the most accurate poll in the 2020 election) Donald Trump is leading in 6 out of 7 swing states (chart listed in comments). It is important to note that 3 of the states are within the margin of error, and these polls are in no way indicative of actual votes counted. That being said, Trump has never done so well in the polls in either 2016 nor 2020, and is known to overperform the polls in regards to actual votes counted. It appears that Trump has a slight lead going into Election Day based off of polling, however at this stage in the race it is important to track early voting data to get a better sense of where each candidate stands going into Election Day.
