Civic Works is a Baltimore area nonprofit and an AmeriCorps organization. We strengthen Baltimore.

Civic Works operates education, community improvement, and green job programs. Every year, over 200 of our AmeriCorps members tutor and mentor students, build community parks and gardens, help homeowners conserve energy, recruit volunteers, grow food for low-income residents, rehabilitate abandoned houses, involve parents in Baltimore City schools, and make homes safer for older adults. We also train 200 Baltimore residents each year for employment in the healthcare and green jobs industries.

Thank you to our volunteer group from CohnReznick Advisory LLC, who supported us at our new farm site this sunny morning. They helped remove grass and trash from the space, mow and weed-whack, and plant an ornamental plant bed along the siteโ€™s fence.

This project is part of an on-going process to convert this empty urban lot into a managed greenspace, that will eventually become our new urban farm for producing fresh produce for our community.

Weโ€™re excited to continue transforming this space into an impactful source of local food!
