Last Thursday, standing in front of the West Baltimore MARC Station, Governor Moore announced the happy news that he is reviving the Red Line. The Red Line will give people improved east-west mobility within Baltimore: from Woodlawn, to Downtown, to Bayview.
Also - because it will tie in, at West Baltimore, to the MARC Penn Line (already a powerful north-south connector from DC to Baltimore and points north) - it will put the DC-area job market within reach of more Baltimoreans AND make Baltimore City much more accessible for Marylanders up and down the Penn Line. Leveraging existing transit infrastructure in this way will further boost the positive impact of this long-overdue project.
Let's put the shovel in the ground!
Wes Moore relaunches Baltimore’s Red Line, but big questions remain Maryland Gov. Wes Moore plans to revive the east-way transit line canceled by his predecessor eight years ago, but whether it will be a light rail or a rapid bus system remains unclear.
