Please read this important reminder from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office. We have received several reports of fraudsters impersonating law enforcement to obtain money. Law enforcement will never call and demand money over the phone to pay for warrants, fines, or missed jury duty. If you believe someone has attempted to scam you, please call us at 817-444-3221 to report it.

๐—ฆ๐—–๐—”๐—  ๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ง: Warrant & Jury Duty Scams

We remind you that TCSO does not call and demand money over the phone to pay for warrants, fines, or missed jury duty. We also do not ask for payment via gift cards, Green Dot cards, or payment apps such as Zelle or CashApp.

Beware of fraudsters impersonating law enforcement via calls or texts. They might claim you have an arrest warrant or missed jury duty and suggest a fine can prevent charges. They might also target relatives of detainees or those being supervised on probation, asking for money. Remember, genuine law enforcement will never contact you asking for payment.

Protect yourself: hang up or delete the message if you receive such calls or texts. Stay vigilant and informed to avoid falling victim to these scams.

We remind you that TCSO does not call and demand money over the phone to pay for warrants, fines, or missed jury duty. We also do not ask for payment via gift cards, green dot cards, or payment apps such as Zelle or CashApp.

If you believe someone has attempted to scam you, call your local police department or, if you live in unincorporated Tarrant County, call us at TCSO Dispatch at 817-884-1213

Please be advised that American Communications will be out tomorrow to look at the Outdoor Warning Siren (OWS) on Charles Street. They may have to set that specific siren off in order to narrow down the problem with it. This is for testing purposes only.
