🍉 Harvest & Happiness: Garden Club Celebrates Sweet Success! 🌻✨

It was a rewarding day in the garden for our Garden Club Stars as they enjoyed the sweet fruits of their hard work, literally! 😋🌱Our young gardeners gathered to slice into and enjoy fresh, juicy watermelon that they planted and cared for themselves earlier this season! There’s nothing quite like tasting something you grew with your own two hands. 🍉👏

Beyond the sweet treat, our Stars spent their time:
🌻 Admiring Towering Sunflowers: Standing tall and bright, the gorgeous sunflowers planted earlier this term are now in full bloom, adding vibrant color to our school yard!
🥬 Planting New Veggies: Getting fresh seeds and starters into the soil to prep our garden beds for a bountiful new harvest season!

Gardening teaches our Stars patience, responsibility, and the magic of nature. A huge thank you to our hardworking Garden Club for keeping our campus growing and beautiful! Great job, Stars! 🌟🌾

🌟 Activating Hope: AESD Leaders Attend the MASTERS Institute! ✨

We are thrilled to share that representatives from Avondale Elementary School District had the incredible opportunity to attend the MASTERS Institute: Creating and Activating Hope, generously hosted by Kids at Hope, Arizona State University (ASU), and Arizona School Administrators! 🧠💡

This transformative event brought together Treasure Hunters to explore the science and practice of hope, focusing on actionable strategies to help every child believe in themselves, connect with caring adults, and map out pathways to success. 🗺️🤝

At STAR Academy, we firmly believe that all children are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS! 🏆 Attending workshops like this empowers our district and school leaders to continually bring research-backed practices back to our classrooms, ensuring our Stars feel supported, valued, and inspired to reach their highest potential every single day.

A huge thank you to Kids at Hope, ASU, and Arizona School Administrators for hosting such an inspiring event and championing the future of our students! Together, we are creating a brighter, hope-filled community! ☀️🎓⭐

📢 Don't Miss It! 📢

Mark your calendars! 🗓️ Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 1–2, 2026. 🎒✨

Be on the lookout for communications from your child’s teacher so you can schedule your conference time. We look forward to connecting with you and working together for your student's success! 📚🤝

🎭 Magical & Memorable: Favorite Character Day Wraps Up Spirit Week! 🦸‍♂️✨

We brought our "Start with Hello" Spirit Week to a grand finale with Favorite Character Day, and our campus was filled with magic, heroism, and endless smiles! 🪄📚

Our Stars arrived dressed as their absolute favorite storybook heroes, animated icons, classic superheroes, and beloved fairytale characters! 🦸‍♀️🌟

Favorite Character Day served as a wonderful reminder that every single Star has a unique story to share and when we take the time to say "hello" and listen, we discover the extraordinary qualities that make each person special! 📖💙

What an unforgettable week of building connections, celebrating inclusion, and spreading kindness across STAR Academy. A huge thank you to our STAR Student Council for organizing such a fantastic week, and to all of our Stars, families, and staff for making it a resounding success! 🎈🎉⭐

⚽ Stronger Together: Team Day was an Absolute Success! 🏀✨

Our campus was packed with team spirit as our Stars brought incredible energy for Team Day as part of our "Start with Hello" Spirit Week! 🏈👕

From classic sports jerseys to local team tees, our Stars showed off what it means to be part of a community. But Team Day is about so much more than sports! It’s a reminder that at STAR Academy, we are all on the same team! 🤝💙

Seeing students connect over shared favorite sports, celebrate each other's unique styles, and cheer one another on captured the spirit of the week. When we work together, include everyone, and lift each other up, everybody wins! 🏆⭐
