It's WHRC Wednesday! This week, we kindly direct your attention to the October "From the Archives" blog post, where we take a look at some of the early GFWC leaders featured in one of the treasures of the WHRC collections: the "Founders Book." Prepared around 1894, this unique volume includes essays, club lists, and - best of all - over thirty original photographs of women who led the early Federation, without whose work the organization might not have endured for over a century.

When young women step up to the podium, the whole community wins. 🎀 Last week we had the pleasure of hosting participants from , a program training the next generation of women in public office. They presented stellar mock campaigns for positions like school board & state legislature. These young leaders are ready, and we can't wait to see them as the changemakers of the future. 🌎

The Crime Victims Fund (CVF) is the main source of federal funding for victim services nationwide. It supports counseling, case management, crisis hotlines, emergency shelters, and direct services for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and trafficking. Nearly 6,500 local organizations rely on it.

The CVF doesn't draw from taxpayer dollars. It's funded by penalties from federal criminal convictions, which have declined in recent years, leaving the fund dangerously low and victim services at risk.

The House has already passed the bipartisan H.R. 909, the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act, which would redirect unobligated False Claims Act funds into the CVF.

πŸ“£ Contact your Senators and urge them to pass H.R. 909 before more communities face catastrophic funding cuts. See the Legislative Action page https://www.gfwc.org/legislative-action/ to learn how!
