25 years ago today, NYE 1999/2000 (yes Y2K) , Lemmy Kilmister, Slim Jim Phantom and Danny B. Harvey played their first live show . They hadn’t even decided on the name HeadCat yet because they had just finished recording their debut album for Cleopatra Records .

Danny B. played bass on the album so they recruited John Carlucci from The Fuzztones to play bass. In a rare moment Lemmy decided to clean shave and wear a suit jacket (drape actually) in honor of the show .

Slim Jim, Danny B and John will reunite for the first time in 25 years on Little Steven's Underground Garage Cruise in May to play a “Tribute to Headcat” set. RIP Lemmy ! Happy New Year to you all .

Long time since I had anything real interesting to post, but next May on Little Steven's Underground Garage Cruise Slim Jim Phantom, Danny B. Harvey & John Carlucci (aka Speedie John's), will be doing an impromptu set of HeadCat songs in memory of Lemmy Kilmister.

Interesting fact, although Danny B. played Bass, Guitar and keyboards on the first Headcat album, Lemmy played acoustic guitar and harmonica, their first live show on NYE 1999/2000 featured Speedie John on bass because originally Lemmy wanted to play guitar and sing live with headcat. Of course after a dozen shows or so he said "f*CK that " and grabbed his Rickenbacker cos' he was the best.

Here’s the latest production and single release from Danny B. Harvey . A true labor of love, Linda Gail Lewis (his mother-in-law), his wife Annie Marie Lewis , his buddy whom he’s known since he was 17 and have made dozens of records with Slim Jim Phantom and their other good friend HeadCat/Wanda Jackson band mate Djordje Stijepovic recorded this original song thats a heart felt song Linda Gail wrote about her brother Jerry Lee Lewis’ passing . It took her over a year to find the strength to put her feelings into a song and it also took a long time for me to record her vocals because she would break down in tears while singing . Very emotional and very real .

Of course it’s on Cleopatra Records, the label that’s keeping Rocknroll alive.

Hopefully I won’t hurt anyone’s feelings when I say this guy , country music legend , Sammy Kershaw, has one of the best voices and is one of the most humble artists I ever had the pleasure to work with . He contacted me in 2022 saying he wanted to do a blues album of covers and after discussing songs what we ended up with was an album of late 60s / 70s Blues Rock classics as well as his friend Joe Diffie’s hit “If I had no pride left at all” and Hank Williams Jr.’s hit “Blues Man”. We worked on this album for almost 2 years because of Covid and other setbacks but the album will finally be released May 31 . I’m very proud of my production and guitar playing on this album please Check out Oh Well (Part 1) which is released today .
