JLA’s A Christmas Affair 2020 is virtual this year so our elves are setting up a makeshift booth in the little party room at the back of the store💕. Visit us in-store when you need some cheer and don’t forget to get your tickets to ACA on jlaustin.org! Your $15 ticket gets you 5 days of online shopping and also provides three kiddos in need with backpacks with food for the weekend. Your online purchases at this virtual event will help support local merchants who have been struggling to make ends meet during this pandemic. So all around feel good shopping for so many good causes. 🎄❤️

We are now OPEN regular business hours at both stores! For our customers who are back to work and/or are ready to venture out, we are excited to welcome you to shop inside our stores again. We are operating at 25% capacity (allowing up to 6 people at a time in our Austin store and up to 9 people at a time in our Wimberley store). We understand a lot of people are not ready to be out and about and that many are choosing/able to stay home. We 100% respect your decision and are grateful to you for helping our communities stay healthy. We will continue to do curbside pickup and local delivery for you for the foreseeable future. We know this alternative quarantined universe we are living in is likely here to stay in various degrees for the next few years and we know we must be diligent in keeping our employees and customers safe. Please remember our stores have always been very low-traffic (your local grocery/liquor/big box stores that everyone has continued to support throughout this pandemic have more people inside and sell more EACH DAY than we have inside or sell in MONTHS). We also do not want to get sick and we want no part in getting our families or our customers or anyone else sick, so we could not be more aware of the importance of keeping our staff healthy and keeping our stores clean and disinfected. The economic effects of the pandemic have been DEVASTATING to us and other small businesses, and they’ve only just begun. We are only two months in with over 30 million Americans newly unemployed (the highest unemployment rate since the 1930’s) and with no vaccine/end in sight. We desperately need to get some of our customers back to get through this. A few people a day can make a huge difference to us and a few people a day will be key to our business having a chance at surviving this economic crisis. Again, thank you for your support, from near via phone/curbside/delivery/in-person orders and from afar via online orders. Love you all 💛

Covid-19 is obviously having a monumental negative effect on our small businesses and countless other small businesses like ours. If you do one thing today in this isolation, it would be AMAZING if some of you lovely people could help our small businesses out. 🙌🏼

Supporting a small business in a meaningful way doesn’t always require spending tons of money. If you’re able to spend even a tiny amount (whatever you can spare) at small businesses rather than at Amazon and Target and Walmart (and all the other big chain stores that do not need the money right now), it really does help and will ultimately be a huge factor in determining which small businesses can survive this pandemic. But when spending money isn’t an option, which is the case for so many right now, helping can truly can be as simple as sharing, liking and promoting. It really does mean A LOT, especially during this unprecedented crazy scary crisis.
