St. David’s Foundation’s Ashley Gomez and team took a tour of ACC’s Make It Center and the Health Sciences Simulation Lab today.

On May 14, Austin Community College District will celebrate commencement, and stories like La’Shondra’s remind us what that day truly represents.

She grew up as the daughter of a deaf mother, learning early how communication can shape connection and opportunity. Today, she is a proud ACC scholarship recipient, raising four daughters while pursuing her education and working toward becoming an American Sign Language interpreter.

Her goal is simple but powerful: to show her daughters what is possible through determination and hard work.

Over 100 attendees joined us for a memorable (and rainy!) day at Plum Creek Golf Course. These funds will provide critical support for ACC students, ensuring they have the resources to complete their education and join the Central Texas workforce.
