Today was filled with excitement, laughter, and amazement at Little Munchkins Learning Center! 🤡🐍🕷️🐰

The children were thrilled as Geebo the Clown entertained us with his silly antics, magical tricks, and lots of laughter. Then came the animal adventure! The children had the opportunity to see and learn about a snake, a tarantula, and an adorable bunny up close.

Experiences like these help children build confidence, curiosity, and an appreciation for animals while encouraging observation skills and hands-on learning. There were plenty of smiles, giggles, and wide-eyed moments throughout the day!

A huge thank you to Geebo for bringing such a memorable and educational experience to our little learners! ❤️

☀️💦 Splish Splash Summer Time Splash Day! 💦☀️

What a fun-filled day of water play, laughter, and sunshine! 🌞 The children had an amazing time splashing with friends, cooling off in the water, and enjoying all the excitement of summer. 🌈🩱🦆

Splash Day activities help children develop gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and social skills while encouraging sensory exploration and active outdoor play. Most importantly, they create wonderful summer memories with their friends! 💙

Summer Safety - Children and Drowning Prevention
Summer is in full effect, and water activities are a great way to cool down and have fun. These activities come with safety concerns, and everyone should take precautionary measures to keep themselves and loved ones out of danger.
Children and Swimming Safety:
Provide active and constant supervision of children in the water and be a water watcher. Put away phones and other distractions around water. Focus on swimming safety. When in any type of water, toddlers and infants should always be no more than arm’s length away from their parent or caregiver. Teach children to swim and learn to swim yourself.

Five essential water safety skills include being able to:
• Step or jump into water over one’s head and return to the surface.
• Tread water for one minute.
• Turn around in a full circle and find an exit from the pool.
• Swim 25 yards to exit the water.
• Exit the water on your own.
• If in a pool, exit without using the ladder.

Children should always wear a lifejacket around water. The life jacket should fit snugly and should not be able to be lifted above the ears. Learn where to get a loaner life jacket.

Learn CPR and basic water rescue skills so you are prepared in case of an emergency. If you have not yet completed Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR training, you can watch this brief Hands-Only CPR video training to learn lifesaving skills until you are able to take a full CPR course. Teach children to ask permission before going near water and to stay away from pool and spa drains.” Teach children to ask permission to go near water. • Practice pool safety. Use physical barriers to prevent children from accessing any source of water. Set alarms on pools and doors/windows leading to pools.
• Make sure children stay away from water hazards in your community such as garden ponds, creeks and streams, wells, and cisterns, and other bodies of water.
• Teach kids that swimming in open water is different than swimming in a pool. Limited visibility, sudden drop-offs, uneven surfaces, currents and undertow can be dangerous.
• Do not use foam or air-filled toys (e.g. floaties, water wings, inner tubes, noodles) in place of a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket.
• Empty tubs, buckets and kiddie pools immediately after use. This also helps minimize mosquitoes.
• Watch for signs of water injury even when the swimming is over.
• Never leave a young child unattended in a bathtub.
• Do not trust a child's life to another child or to aides that help a child sit upright in a tub.
• Use safety locks on toilets and keep bathroom doors closed and toilet-bowl covers down when small children are in the home.

Drowning Safety. The most severe and most feared water emergency is drowning. Drowning may not always look like someone in obvious distress. It can be fast and silent with very little splashing, waving, or yelling. Respond quickly when you notice someone displaying the following uncontrolled signs:
• Head low in the water, mouth at water level
• Head tilted back with mouth open
• Eyes glassy and empty, unable to focus
• No response when you ask if they’re ‘OK’
• Eyes closed
• Hair over forehead or eyes
• Not using legs – Vertical
• Hyperventilating or gasping
• Trying to swim in a particular direction but not making progress
• Trying to roll over on the back
• Appear to be climbing an invisible ladder

🎓✨ Today we celebrated a very special milestone — our Pre-K Graduation! ✨🎓

We are so proud of all of our little graduates and everything they have accomplished this year. From learning letters and numbers to making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, they have grown so much! 💛

Watching them walk across the stage in their caps and gowns filled our hearts with pride and joy. These bright young minds are ready for their next big adventure — Kindergarten! 📚🍎
