indie folk singer-songwriter New music coming this autumn with an EP on the way.

Rooted in an innate curiosity for and technical ex*****on of unconventional sources of sound, Austin
Basham transcends the traditional folk singer-songwriter genre by showcasing an imaginative range of
self-taught instrumentation. Self-described as “a soundtrack to everyday life,” Basham’s music is a
unique synthesis of intricately layered melodies, echoing harmonies, and refreshing candor that evokes a
passed-down authenticity by taking listeners along on his journeys of both artistic and personal evolution. Basham’s inaugural release Linton / / Oslo EP (2016), aptly titled for recording sessions across the pond,
was heralded by Clash Magazine as “sonically gorgeous.” In 2018, he released his full-length debut via
Nettwerk Music Group. You and Me for Now; was recorded between Oslo, Vancouver, and Austin, with
the vast majority of instrumentation done by Basham himself. He subsequently co-headlined a North
American tour with Hollow Coves, playing in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York, among others.

Fell out of my posting groove for a bit. Here’s a recent snippet of my song “Running.”

Let me know what other songs of mine—or covers—you’d like to hear.

Playing my unreleased song “Hollow Head / Hollow Heart” somewhere around Cambridge, UK, in the summer of 2013.

One of my all-time favorite photographers, Alexandra Cameron (behind the camera), took me in during an extended stay, looked after me, and introduced me to some wonderful people I’m still close with today. It’s a trip I still think about often, and one that quietly played a part in shaping the path my music would take.

This song also made its way to Cameron Crowe through a connection from Alex, and was eventually featured in his Showtime series, Roadies.

A very overdue thank you, Alex, for your friendship, generosity, and the beautiful photos from that time.

Another throwback, another Nick Drake. This time, Road.

A humble attempt at Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice.

I always seem to find my way back to this song. There’s a reason so many people have taken a crack at it over the years.

Here’s my take.

Found this old loop of “Elephants” from when I was getting ready for a tour.

At the time, my pedalboard was less of a pedalboard and more of a piece of plywood with a dream.

Swipe to see the finished version that my dad helped me build—and that’s still in use today.

Little piano outro from a song my good friend Lila Tristram and I demoed a while back called O Lily-Lay. Still hoping we'll record and release it properly one day. 🌿🎹

Keeping the posting streak alive with one of my favorites: “One Of These Things First” by Nick Drake.
Remi snoozing, as usual.

Took a crack at Johnny Flynn’s “Wayne Rooney”. Please excuse the shoddy slide attempt 😂.

a little clip of my cover of Mac DeMarco’s “Still Beating” with Remi boy snoozing on the couch 💤

Another one from the archives — “All Is Well” from a few years back. Curious who’s heard this one at a show over the years :)
