Carrying Hope

Sending a HUGE and heartfelt thank you to the New Braunfels Downtown Rotary Club, which awarded Carrying Hope with a $10,000 grant that will allow us to improve the way hundreds of additional children in New Braunfels and throughout Comal County enter and experience foster care.

Since its inception, the Downtown Rotary Club has provided millions of dollars of support to the community through various donations, grants, and scholarships. This year alone, the club provided more than $360,000 in charitable contributions to dozens of community organizations and nonprofits!

Carrying Hope has regularly distributed Hope Packs to New Braunfels-area CPS caseworkers, shelters and the Comal County Child Welfare Board since 2018, and we are so grateful for this grant which will allow us to make an even greater impact this year!

Throughout May, which is National Foster Care Month, is spotlighting our three essential programs, including Hair + Hope. 💕

In 2025, our Hair + Hope program served 100 foster youth across the state of Texas. Our Hair + Hope program has provided 200 hairstyles since launching in 2024.

Carrying Hope believes that all youth deserve to have their basic needs met and is proud to offer our Hair + Hope program, which pairs incredible local stylists who regularly work with textured hair with youth in foster care who are desperately in need of their services. Each week, we distribute our Hope Packs—backpacks filled with new, age-appropriate comfort items and essentials—directly to CPS caseworkers, foster care agencies, child advocacy specialists, shelters, RTCs, and group homes throughout DFPS Regions across Texas. Our goal is to offer items that babies, children, and teens entering foster care would need and could find comfort in during those first 48 hours in care while allowing caregivers to focus solely on the new child in their home instead of rushing out to the store.

Since 2016, our Hope Packs and programs have impacted the lives of nearly 47,000 youth and families in the Texas foster care system, transforming a once heartbreaking situation into a transition that begins with hope and healing.
