Do you know about HAAM and what they’re doing for our city and its creative community? They are the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and with their generous support, tons of local artists are able to access and enjoy affordable healthcare and coverage in a time - and town - where affordability is fast disappearing.

Since it was founded a little over 20 years ago, HAAM has provided more than $215 million in wellness-related services including, but not limited to, medical and dental visits and treatment, but also - critically for creatives - access to mental health services as well, like psychiatry and counseling.

Their dedication to Austin-area DJs, music teachers and musicians is part of what helps keep the Austin music scene alive and kicking, and we owe them a debt of gratitude.

Next month, on March 15, we’ll be part of a day-long showcase hosted by raising money and awareness for this important non-profit that has made a big impact here, and in other communities who are beginning to follow suit. They’re doing great work and they deserve our recognition, respect and support. Come by and be a part of the solution for a small suggested donation of $5. You’ll get a day’s worth of great performances by 15 bands across all genres, but even better, you’ll be helping people who truly deserve it so they can keep giving us their best work.
