NO CEREMONY///

10 years ago today, NO CEREMONY/// flew to Austin, TX for our first ever shows outside of Europe - 6 performances at 2013 - fantastic memories of playing on some truly amazing lineups.

For me and so many others, a show at SXSW is a dream come true; a true career goal. I’m very jealous of all those going this year for the first time and wish you all the best shows.

This was just going to be a memories post, but sadly our SXSW was another in a long line of performances / tours that we actually lost money on. “Exposure as payment” is so widely derided now that it’s a meme, but it’s also still depressingly widespread. I’m in full support of ‘s efforts this year to put pressure on to pay its artists fairly. If you are in Texas this year, instead of snowy (!) in anticipation of an ending, by No Ceremony 11 track album

New music for ! As you may know, James and Owain have ventured into both composing for film and solo projects, Owain under his own name and James as Tey \\\ Fir. This release is the first publication of that music.

From today, James will be taking over this account, and you can find Owain’s work over on - please give him a follow.

Symphony For Her Website is a collaboration born of conversations between composer and music producer Owain Kelly, songwriter and composer James Williams (Tey \\\ Fir), and director & screenwriter Stacy Cochran () following their work on short film Heartbeat of Squirrels (2020) and experimental feature-length A Year On Ice (2023).

Sharing a love of teasing at the expectations of their respective fields, and not wanting to stop their collaborations after a year of mid-pandemic transatlantic video calls, their conversation turned to Stacy’s newly designed website and why this couldn’t be something ‘more’.

The result is this EP of four pieces, inspired by the four-part symphonies of the classical tradition, loosely interpreted through the lens of two musicians with a history of experimental electronic pop in NO CEREMONY/// () and creatively shaped by Stacy’s insightful directorial hand.
