Took in a generator today that would make a horrible noise and lock up every time you tried to pull-start it. At first, it sounded like something external was causing the problem, so I decided to tear it down and investigate.

What I found was definitely not what I expected.

Sometimes the real problem isn’t where the noise is coming from—it’s buried deep inside where nobody can see it. That’s why proper diagnosis beats guessing every time.

What I found wasn’t what I expected—a nut insert had worked its way loose and found its way behind the recoil starter drive, where it was catching on the engine and locking everything up. Reinstalled the insert, secured it with epoxy, reassembled the unit, and it’s now back in perfect working order. Sometimes the smallest parts cause the biggest problems.”

Just finished detailing this absolutely awesome Harley-Davidson at Clean Rides Custom.

It was a true tribute to our veterans, proudly decorated with patriotic and veteran logos that represent courage, sacrifice, and freedom.
