Carrie Adamson-Riefler
Based in North Texas, Carrie Adamson-Riefler works with oil painting, metals, printmaking, and video projection.
Her artwork presents mangled and twisted beauty. She believes in the redemption and triumph of the soul and that through perseverance and courage, regardless of past mistakes, one gets the chance to start again - thus reconfiguring oneself. In Carries current body of work, destruction constitutes renewal; chaos allows for cohesion as she shoots, corrodes, and destresses sheets of metal. On top of

Be the Love…
None of this is permanent.
So love out loud.
Take the risk.
Go on the trip.
Spend the money.
Let your heart break open…
and fall in love again anyway.
Chase the sun.
Dance more.
Talk to strangers.
Collect moments, not fear.
This life is meant to be lived beautifully ~
with hope, kindness, and love.
Don’t hold back.
We’re not meant to leave here untouched.

Some voices don’t fade… they echo through time.
Watching Stevie Nicks feels like witnessing magic take its final bow.

Not all paths are meant to be obvious. Some just appear when you’re finally ready to follow them. Found this magical little mushroom trail and couldn’t help but smile because this is exactly what my life feels like right now.
Aligned.
A little magical.
And completely mine.

Back in America - studio update - post GBR dive! 🪸🐠
When I reflect on the process of this piece, it seems like It’s a conversation between two worlds …
one wild and fluid,
one slow and deliberate.
I started this one underwater in the Great Barrier Reef.
Now that I am back in the studio I have been working with oil paint, building patina, letting it evolve into something deeper.

What do you do when you get home from a life-changing trip to Australia? 🇦🇺✈️
🧁You bake Tim Tam inspired cupcakes.
Still dreaming about the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney speakeasy’s, Bondi to Coogee walks. So tonight my daughter and I brought a little piece of Australia into my kitchen.
Vanilla cupcakes, clouds of buttercream, and the star of the show — Caramel Tim Tams.
Travel changes you. Sometimes it also changes your dessert menu. 🧁✨

Art, ocean air, and a little indulgence.
Today felt like the perfect farewell to this incredible city — wandering through galleries, discovering Aboriginal instruments and stories, ferrying across the harbor to Manly Beach, and watching the sails of the Sydney Opera House rise against the skyline.
Sydney… you’ve been magic.
But the adventure continues. 🌊

From Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, we followed the edge of the continent today about a 4 mile hike.
Breakfast overlooking the ocean at the Bondi Beach Pool Club… then miles of cliffside paths, turquoise water, and waves crashing against the rocks.
There’s something about this walk — the rhythm of the surf, the salt in the air, the endless blue meeting the sand — that makes you feel plugged straight into source energy. I swear I’ve been vibrating with joy all day.
We finished at the Coogee Outdoor Lawn Bowling Club. (Retirement goals) 😎
Now it’s sushi, rooftop bars, and a sunset swim at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney pool bar.
Australia… you are magic. ✨

Still buzzing from today’s dive on the Great Barrier Reef.
Huge thanks to and their amazing crew for making it possible. 🌊🐠✨
An artist between two worlds — sea and surface.

Today I carried a small copper plate down into the depths of the Great Barrier Reef.
I taped it to my dive slate, descended into the blue, and made the first sketch of what will become a new body of work.
The Reef was breathtaking!
A few of the best sights were a giant clam, a pair of clownfish weaving through their soft forest of anemones and a little remora that decided to become our companion, gliding under us throughout the whole dive.
This is how my painting begins, in the ocean itself.
As saltwater touches the copper and quick Sketch lines made underwater.
I’ll finish the piece in the studio… but its first breath was taken here.
Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
Where art and ocean meet.

The moment before descending into the reef.
Coffee in hand.
Gear lined up on the deck.
Salt air moving across the Coral Sea.
Today we headed out with Passions of Paradise, one of the boats that takes divers out to the outer Great Barrier Reef.
Standing on the deck, looking out at that endless turquoise water, I kept thinking about what was waiting beneath the surface.
Giant clams.
Anemones.
Clownfish.
And a reef older than human civilization.
Somewhere down there I would take my first underwater sketch on copper — the beginning of a new piece of art.
But first comes this moment…
The quiet anticipation before the giant stride.
Next post: what we found below the surface. 🌊

Rainforest. Waterfalls. A train through the jungle. 🚂🌿
Today we rode the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway above Barron Falls and through one of the oldest rainforests on Earth.
Australia just keeps getting more magical.
