As a child, she would lie awake at night wondering how she could help people who didn't have a place to call home. What burdened her most wasn't just that people were sleeping outside—it was the feeling that they had been forgotten, overlooked, or made to feel like they didn't belong.
Today, that same passion fuels her work at Atlanta Mission.
Inspired by Isaiah 58 and a lifelong calling to create spaces of belonging, Marie serves with the belief that every person deserves dignity, community, and hope.
'What burdened me as a kid was that they felt ostracized... that they felt othered. I've always wanted to create a space where people feel like they belong.'
We're grateful for team members like Marie who live out our mission every day. ❤️

Not all struggles are visible, you can't always tell on the outside who may be facing homelessness. The same is true for those facing mental illness.
At Atlanta Mission we are striving to help those who come to our door not only with their visible physical needs, but also their invisible mental needs.
We do this through creating a safe space for them to start addressing their underlying pain and trauma.
Take advantage of our 100K match provided by the Scott Pryor Law Group to together help even more people with their invisible struggles!
