The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation by ICE HSI Detroit and its partners into online ads offering s*x with kids.

“These allegations are deeply disturbing, especially given that some of the accused held positions of public trust,” said ICE HSI Detroit Acting Special Agent in Charge Jared Murphey.

A 34-year-old Metro East woman will spend the next four decades behind bars after admitting she not only s*xually abused a young child herself — but stood by while her boyfriend did the same.

Ashley Rusk, of Bethalto, was sentenced Tuesday following guilty pleas to predatory criminal s*xual assault and permitting the s*xual abuse of a child.
According to prosecutors, Rusk committed s*xual acts against a child under the age of 13 in September 2023. Then, in February 2025, rather than protect the victim, she allowed her boyfriend, Blake Clemons, 36, to carry out his own abuse against the child.

Clemons remains held at the Madison County Jail as he awaits trial on related charges.
The case reflects one of the most disturbing patterns in child abuse prosecutions — adults who are entrusted with a child’s safety choosing instead to become both perpetrators and enablers.

Rusk’s 40-year sentence was handed down Tuesday in Madison County.

Federal investigators are calling on anyone victimized by Michael Mohr — president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Central Illinois District — to come forward as their investigation into the Springfield, Illinois church official continues.

Mohr was arrested and charged in a St. Louis federal court on January 28, 2026, with one count of producing child po*******hy.

The case unfolded after a minor reported discovering a camera hidden inside a device disguised as a phone charger in a hotel bathroom. That discovery came one day after the child awoke to find Mohr standing over them and ma********ng — believing the child to be asleep. According to the affidavit, the child was in shock and remained still, pretending to be asleep.

A subsequent court-authorized search of Mohr’s Springfield home turned up a storage device containing footage of three minors recorded in a bathroom setting.

A second search — this one at a Vandalia residence used by Mohr — led investigators to two additional hidden cameras: one disguised as a wall clock, the other concealed inside a Bluetooth speaker.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The FBI is asking victims, or guardians of victims, to complete a brief online form. Those who know someone Mohr may have victimized are encouraged to urge that person to fill out the form directly. All victim identities will remain confidential.

Former St. Louis Area Pediatrician Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Exchanging Prescriptions for S*x Acts

ST. LOUIS – U.S. District Judge John A. Ross on Tuersday sentenced a former St. Louis County, Missouri pediatrician to 20 years in prison for prescribing pain pills and other controlled substances in exchange for s*x acts, n**e photos or cash.

From at least 2014 through May of 2023, Craig A. Spiegel, now 70, exploited his position to obtain cash, s*xual acts or s*xual photographs from at least 19 patients, many of whom he began treating as children. Spiegel illegally distributed an “astronomical amount of drugs,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Sestric said in court. Rather than referring patients with a substance use disorder to treatment, Spiegel exploited their disease for his own gratification and prescribed dangerous combinations of addictive drugs to those vulnerable victims. Spiegel pressured and harassed reluctant patients via text messages and became s*xually violent with at least one victim, Sestric said. Spiegel met one of his victims when she was only about seven or eight years old and initiated s*xual contact years later by preying on her vulnerability when she was going through a divorce, a sentencing memo filed by Sestric said.

Spiegel admitted prescribing controlled substances to his co-defendant, April Bingham, in exchange for s*xual favors. He knew that she was selling some of the drugs, and that she was addicted. He prescribed drugs to Bingham using the names of friends and relatives in part to take advantage of their insurance benefits. Bingham then introduced Spiegel to others who paid him or performed s*x acts in exchange for controlled substances.

Spiegel’s crimes were only thwarted by an investigation that began with the Bridgeton Police Department. After his indictment, Spiegel lied in an April 2025 hearing in U.S. District Court in St. Louis while accusing police officers of illegally searching his cellular phone. Spiegel falsely claimed, in court and under oath, that he had not signed a consent form authorizing the search of his cellular phone until after the cellular phone data had been extracted by investigators.

38-year-old Ronnell Agee is charged with 11 felonies in connection to keeping a recent missing girl in Detroit captive. It’s unclear how he met the victim but investigators describe them as strangers.

She says she was violently s*xually assaulted for five days straight and couldn’t get away from the home. Agee allegedly only let her go when he saw that she was reported missing on social media.

Detroit Police say once she returned home safe they began piecing together what happened while she was gone and it led them to Agee.

When this allegedly happened, Agee was out on a personal bond and on tether for a domestic violence case involving his wife.

He has since been remanded to custody.
